Under the new rules you don't need 7 on the line, you just need 4 or fewer in the backfield.

If the center and QB are the only players on the field and the center snaps the ball, its a legal play. The center is also an eligible receiver in this case as he is an end.

What if the offense had left the field, except for Tbob and JJ - tbob snaps the ball, runs into the endzone, JJ throws it to him, all before the Ole Miss D has any clue what's happening.

Would that have worked?

(better chance than spiking the ball!)

you also have to 11 players on the field don't you

also anybody on the field behind the line of scrimage is considered in the back field so the only way to have the correct number of people is 7 people on the line of scrimage and 4 people behind
