Ok, So You are Joe Aleva

You have a fan base that, at least based on this board as totally given up on Miles. It's like 90% wnat him gone.
At the very least, there seems to be little confidence in Miles and his staff. Let's assume that we lose to Arkansas. We get some minor bowl bid. It's very tough to get the players motivated.
So now you have a coach that most in the fan base wants to see gone and the only reason he's not is he won a NC 2 years agao. So, if you don't fire him you are living with a VERY disgruntled fan base for one year.
What do you do? Terminate him, wipe the slate clean and start over or, are you forced to live with it for a year?
I think I know the answer but just curious for others thoughts.

Under no circumstances will Miles be fired. He will have to make coaching changes on offense. That's it.

I agree with smokin. A lot of people on the rant need a reality check and realize they are just a handful of LSU "fans" that want to see Miles gone now/end of the season.
It logically and fiscally makes no sense to get rid of him now or at the end of the season.

Hardly. Obviously you are using the Rant as a litmus test, which explains your ignorance.

90% of the LSU fans don't want Miles gone.
Last year he fires two co-DC's, this year he may fire the OC (which would be fine with me), but at what point do you look at the guy in charge?
The head coach is were the buck stops. I don't see any fire. He has the "want", but Vandy has the want, that's BS.
How bout getting the discipline needed to win consistently in the SEC. That is what we need, not more want.

I stayed in Opelika,Al. this weekend which is Auburn country and everywhwere you go there's Tiger gear.It occurred to me what the difference in football success this decade LSU has had versus Auburn. How would you have liked to have their record instead of ours.During Thanksgiving week just be grateful.

If by that you mean LSU Tiger gear, then, I'd say that you can expect that to change in the next few years.

Miles cannot be defended for that bumbling performance at the end of the Ole Miss game.
But that doesn't change the fact that the rantards have been out in full force, INCLUDING those who think Alleva gives two shits about what some people displaying their ignorance on a message board think.
The rantardadness is not so much hammering Miles, but a group with "mob mentality" vastly overestimating their intelligence AND importance and thinking they influence Alleva's decision-making.
The rantards' thinking that Alleva is going to fire Miles this week to placate them is laughable.
So NO, ranter. Miles is NOT going to be fired.
That answer your question?

which would make it two seasons in a row that wholesale changes needed to be made in the coaching staff on opposite sides of the ball ... it took it being "strongly recommended" to him to cut the "malveto" co-dcs loose as well as make a change on the defensive line ... now .. we move to the offensive side of the ball where the OC, the offensive line coach, and the wide receivers coaches are under fire ... people used to rave about miles' ability to hire assistants ... but how can we still say that if we have two off seasons in a row of wholesale changes ... saban had to do it because assistants were leaving to get better jobs .. miles is having to do it to save his arse ... look at the great season peveto had at northwestern this year, btw ..

There are probably a dozen coaches out there who could have won the west with our current players.
And I am not including 8 or 9 from the SEC.
I say we give this staff 1 more year and if we lose to more SEC teams than we beat, this staff has to go.
I am ok with 2 or 3 losses per year, but 4 or 5 is unacceptable for the money we are paying these guys.
The thing that really irks me is the mismanagement and the low level of play the coaches get out of these guys. I thought the D even layed down some in this game.

Ok, let me re-phrase this; would it be safe to say that, prior to the Ole Miss game, the LSU fans who post on Tiger Rant were probably split on Miles. Today, it seems the tide has swung big time against him.
I realize Tiger Rant does not include all Tiger fans. Now, does that clarify?

Crowton and staff put up record numbers in 2007. Now we're awful. So the question becomes why. Is it just a matter of personnel? Young QB? Issues between HC and OC?
I don't know, but something has to change.

oh, come the frick on ... look at crowton's resume/track record, he runs out of steam everywhere in year #3 ... look at the decline in productivity at oregon while he was there, and look at their offensive numbers now ... crowton practically hand selected jordan jefferson in the recruiting process ... he was supposedly in the "lab" this offseason cooking up a revolutionary new offense with russell shepard in the mix ... and what did we get this season ?? our offensive numbers have steadily declined since he's been here ... we supposedly had a veteran offensive line this season .. brandon lafell spurns the NFL to be the leader of the receiving corps .. terrance tolliver is supposed NFL calibre talent .. you had richard dixon returning at TE .. veterans charles scott and keiland williams in the backfield along with veteran trendon holiday ... and you are going to say we were young ?

Panties in a wad this morning? I was simply asking what changed.

Your arrogance in this post is amazing, especially since you are acting like you know two shits more than those wanting Miles gone. The production is not there, the fire is not there, and the man is looking this bad as the coach at LSU with national championship caliber talent. You do not get $4 million per year for that shitty of a performance. Period. So don't come around here saying a bunch of rantards who want the sonofabitch gone don't have a clue what they are talking about when you are no more of an authority than they are.
