I say we would have won and probably had only 1 loss

So if Miles wasn't our coach you are assuming we would have had a better record with anybody as head coach. I agree?

Looty would have won us at least one more game than Miles?

I hate this thread and FML

Who would our coach be?

Do you think if Saban wasn't our coach in 2004 we would have done better or worse than 8-5?

Since we asking idiotic, rhetorical, agenda-laced questions...

No idea.

But I do believe we should have won the NC in 2006.

LSU was 9-3 in 2004.

Indeed. The 2006 squad had more "talent." Unfortunately, playing 4 teams ranked in the top 10 on the road (we went 2-2) was just way too hard of a schedule to qualify for the game. The two best teams in 2002 were Florida and LSU. And while they got us in a sloppy game in the Swamp, I would have liked our chances in a rematch.

This question makes my hair hurt ... isn't that a double negative? So in reality, you're asking if LSU would have won the 2007 NC if Miles WAS our coach? Since he was our coach, the answer is clearly "yes".

If you're asking whether LSU would have won the 2007 NC if someone else were our coach, the answer is "it depends". Without Miles in 2007, we likely lose to UF (who else would have gone for all of those 4th downs?). However, we probably beat UK ... not sure about Arky.

Meant 2002. But OK, since we're likely to go 9-3 this year and people are acting like we need to fire everyone associated with coaching LSU, I'll ask "Do you think if Saban wasn't our coach in 2004 we would have done better or worse than 9-3?" Because 9-3 = FAIL, right?

LSU was 6-1 until Mauck got hurt.

9-3 is not fail, but 9-2 was a slight disappointment only because we just won the NC. But Mauck elected to go pro/dental school and Clayton to NFL. 9-2 was what it was. The last loss, of course, Saban never should have been allowed to coach - thanks Stanley Bertman. We win with any other coach because Saban was already coaching the Dolphins.

9-3 with an 11-1 team, yes.
9-3 with a 7-5 team, no.
