The most ridiculous part about the whole confederate flag issue is that we venerate one of the worst mistakes in history.

The South was wrong to secede, and it was wrong to preserve slavery too. We lost. Time to move on.

As for the KKK....if I am in charge of that campus, there is no way in hell they get permission to march.

There are far more devastating things in history than the South fighting the North (ie Holocaust, 20+ million Russians dying in WWI. Stalin.).

If you mean the country's history, I agree it was bad. I wouldn't call it a mistake. Northern aggression had to be confronted and would have been confronted sooner or later. Slavery is the issue simple minded PC followers pin the war on, but the war was fought for much bigger reasons than that.

Most of the Yankees didn't even want the blacks after the war.

I'm a proud southerner as well, and it just hurts to say this...But it's true. Take away the slavery issue (which is honestly what it was about) and it's still a bad FN idea. The Union isn't a club. You don't quit when things aren't going your way.
