What's the news on him?

Any word on his improvement?

I ask because Brunell is living on borrowed time, I would think.

Yes, I know I'm a Saintaholic. I read about him last night...

Former West Allegheny High and University of Pittsburgh star quarterback Tyler Palko is hoping to get another shot to play in the NFL.

“I’ve been working out and staying in shape,” said Palko, 26, who was released by the Arizona Cardinals near the end of summer camp. “I have an agent and if a team needs someone due to an injury, I’m hoping to get a chance.”

Palko considered signing with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL but his itch to play at the highest level got in the way.

“It’s been a lifetime goal to play in the NFL,” he said.

Palko signed as a free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2007 and was on the club’s active roster that whole season.

“Drew Brees was like a big brother to me and I learned a lot from him,” said Palko about the Saints’ quarterback.

A right thumb injury kept the lefty throwing Palko on the Saints inactive list last year and then he tried to hook on with the Cardinals this season. He realized a thrill in his brief time with Arizona.

This is similar to Paris Hilton saying she a penisaholic... understatement.

This thread made me nostalgic for some Adrian McPherson. Apparently he's backing up some 37 year old QB in the CFL

He'll always hold a special place in my heart for giving us one of the funniest farks of all time:

I hate the fact that Brunell is our man if Brees goes down. Defenses with smother our offense something terrible.

Palko - I was totally in the minority when he was with the Saints but, I thought Palko was horrible. I saw nothing to make me think he could ever play in the NFL. Hell, he couldn't hold on to a snap. He fumbled snaps repeatedly.

The Steelers, however, were confident enough that Roethlisberger is healthy that they will not sign a veteran quarterback. Instead, it appears they will sign a young quarterback to the practice squad, Tyler Palko, who starred at Pitt and West Allegheny High School. Dennis Dixon, the team's No. 3 quarterback the past two seasons, will move up to No. 2 and the Steelers will go with only two quarterbacks on the active roster for now.

Palko has actually looked good in the last two preseason, I don't know why he has not made a roster
