if we finish 10-2 and win the bowl game...

and lets assume that uf/bama are undefeated in the sec title game and one wins the bcs title and the other wins its bowl game..
would our "on the field" accomplishment be better than in 2007, considering we will have only lost to two of the top 3 teams in the country?

Obviously the "accomplishment" would be less since LSU would not take the SEC crown like they did in 2007.

yes - i am not asking if the team's accomplishments (as far as being in the title game) are better than 07, because i know we won the title...but certainly our 2 losses this year, will have been to better teams than our two loses in 07...i think that is the point i am trying to make.

Since Brando called us the USC of the south we maybe voted #1 by the AP voters making us the true National Champs. (Keeping fingers crossed)

Being that we beat 1 team that is ranked, I say it's not even close to 2007. In 2007 we were 5-1 against ranked teams, won a SEC division championship, conference championship & national championship. The only championship we're going to win this season is hopefully the Mississippi State Championship.

tOSU was ranked #1 but was overrated.
The '07 team also lost to worse teams that the current edition. But '07 was still better, there's no real question about it. If this team had an offense though ...

2007 offense was straight soldiers!!!.....09 offense is young and dumb right now.....no comparison...however lsu may be undeated in 07 if they had the 09 defense......
