Why on earth would anyone want Miles as a HC? Miles won't be gone until this place is in shambles. There is only two was coaches leave a place. The first would be to find a better job. The only job better than LSU for Les is Michigan but I doubt they are stupid enough to hire him. The only other way for him to leave is for LSU to be a perennial 7-5 to 8-4 team. We're honestly pretty close to that, so he won't be gone until LSU is a "coaching project" again.

You're an idiot. If LSU were to fire Miles at the end of this season we would be the laughing stock of college football and hard pressed to hire a good coach that would want to come to a team where you could get fired after winning the SEC West twice, an SEC title, a NC, and 50 games all in 5 years.

Think about it morons.

Bill Cowher... wants the LSU job pretty bad fellas - and he has believe it or not a very strong emotional tie to LSU....

which all of you in my age group should know....

but.. young impressionable guys usually have a lot of respect and admiration for their position coaches in hs and college... and. well.. do your research...

More than Les Miles is the laughing stock of CFB right now? I only read ESPN and CFN and those two sites were ripping into Miles so bad it was embarassing to read. The guy is terrible, and everyone knows it.

We only won 7 regular season games last year. You should go look at next years schedule. Its STACKED. I'm really worried about that tard running the show. The guy doesn't even know when to call timeouts! Next year very well be Les Miles last year here, and it won't because he found a better job.

I will be honest and say I hope this plays out and LSU gets a crack at getting a new coach without having to force Miles out the door.

an NFL team probably pays him a shite ton of money in the next year or 2 to comeback.

I wouldn't because I'd rather have a defensive minded coach, but damn what RR couldn't do with this team. I mean shite, we already the players a team like his would need. Some of those games could get FUGLY.

Why do people think Bill Cowher and Jeff Gruden, etc. have any interest of coming into baton Rouge and becoming coach?

I can't honestly say about Cowher, except that there were a few, very iffy rumors about his possible interest. He did end up leaving Pittsburgh and would have stayed for less money than $aban and Meyer are making, and would have stayed for less money than we're willing to pay.

There had to be at least some smoke to the Gruden fire. While it's possible that rumor just got out more quickly than normal, I heard from way too many people that he was at least interested in coaching college, and that LSU was one of the schools he would consider.

Jack Del Rio - there is no question that he was interested in the job and that we were interested in him. Had the interview occurred, he might have been offered the job.

quote:

Say Gruden comes in in '11 (or next year)...no one thinks he would use LSU as a stepping stone to take over another NFL franchise. CFB CANNOT compete with the NFL.

That's a pretty good point. Should a guy with an impressive NFL resume already, come in and coach "lights out" at LSU, it would be impossible to keep him from going back - though Cowher might be a stand up guy and agree to a big buyout(if that's even enforceable) - I get the feeling that he's fed up with the whole NFL world.
