Tired of the "wouldn't have scored" argument

I understand that our offense had been rather inept at this point in the game, BUT this argument of statistics is ridiculous.

With this line of logic, why even play the games? If one team appears to be better and has been doing better over the season, just give them the win.

Looking forward to Bama bitching about a 4th quarter call when they're down 28-3 to Florida.

It's the CHANCE to score that was taken away. Regardless of the likelihood of it happening, there still was the chance.

It's not like us driving and scoring at Bama late in the fourth quarter to tie or take the lead is unprecedented.

Hell, we did the same thing in 2007 when we drove the field, scoring a touchdown to tie the game.

How many yards of offense had bama had before #8's long catch/run?

well put...I totally agree. I think bama should just concede the sec to Florida since it "appears" they will lose based on what we have seen so far.

LSU clearly would have had momentum at that point and some fire with a chance to win. Who says shep couldnt break a long run or JL couldnt hit lefell, toliver or RR with a bomb. If you never get the chance you cant win. Also LSU could have run a normal drive with that much time. Bama wouldnt have know we had to pass ever down like they did when were down by 9 with 2 min.

LSU lost. It sucks. They are probably as good as Alabama.

Exactly.

The odds are very high that the game ends 21-15 Bama. I concede that with no reservations.

However, they should have had the chance.

If you look at Miles' reign, we have a LOT of last drive scores to win the game against top 25 teams.

This is very, very true.

Let's be honest here:

It wouldn't have happened. The "botched" replay just saved us from some other stupid penalty to kill our drive, like a "hold" on a big play, offensive PI, or whatever.

We were not going to win this game. It is time to deal with this and move on.

All it takes it one break sometimes and a player runs the gauntlet to score. It's happened many, many times in this sport.

Oddly enough, I'll disagree. I think if we play them 10 times, they beat us 7 in Tuscaloosa. In Baton Rouge, maybe not, but in T-Town...

Regardless, I feel so sorry for these kids. If they get that interception and don't score, it is what it is. Now, it's a bunch of 'what ifs' and 'we got jobbed'.

We did have the opportunity to stop them from advancing further and getting the FG.

Let's not forget what happened on the next play:

quote:

3rd-7, LSU40 5:54 G. McElroy passed to J. Jones down the middle for 10 yard gain

If this play doesn't happen, they're looking at a 57-yard FG or a punt.

"Holding, on the offense, ten yard penalty. Repeat the down".

Bama fans cheer.

Drive ended.
