To all the rantards

I usually stay away from the rant, because of all the stupidity spewed on this board, but this time I can't help but respond. You are the same idiots that sit behind me at games and yell "Fire Miles!" after the punter shanks one. You are the same idiots that hate a playcall unless it works. You are the same idiots that complain about Rueben Randle not playing when he has been playing at least 20 snaps a game.
This was an unbelievably hard fought game. We came out with a great gameplan. Offensively we did a good job early on of keeping them on their toes. We put a decent run game together with a poor offensive line. You can't blame the coaches when Terrance Tolliver slips on the first play. This gameplan was light years ahead of our plan against Florida (which I was furious with).
To the idiots saying Miles called too conservative. We went for it on 4th and 5 on the 45, and got it besides a false start. We went for 2 (which by the way I don't think there was a wrong call either way) Its one of those where if you get it you are a genius, if you don't you are stupid. Sometimes the correct decision and the decision that works aren't the same thing.
What other chances did you want him to take? We threw downfield, blitzed, etc...
To the idiots complaining about the playcalling. You do realize there are 11 players on defense trying to stop us that are just as talented as well as one of the best defensive coaching staffs in the country trying to stop us as well right? We mixed Shephard in, ran laterally and up the middle for better success than any of us could have expected. We put together some very solid drives. That is a top defense in the country. This is not xbox.
Yes, it sucks to lose to Bama. I am a die hard LSU fan and just as furious as anyone else. Does anyone think we get outcoached? If so please explain.
Do you think Bama defeats us if Mcelroy, Ingram and their best defensive player Rolado Mcclain are all out for 1/3 of the game? I don't think so. We had 3 of our key players injured, as well as other contributors.
The penalties were the most frustrating thing to me. It seems like its a give and take thing for running so many different sets and so much different personnel. We were on the road though, and we would not have had as many false starts, illegal formations, etc... if we had not been dealing with 92,000 screaming fans.
Just because you lose doesn't mean you were out coached. Both teams made mistakes and had major penalties. Both coaches made mistakes as well. I don't understand the need to blame someone or something for a loss. Yes, it sucks but when two top teams play each other, someone has to lose. I am proud of our players and coaching stuff for their performance. I feel worse for them than any of you idiots.
Also, I don't think we would have win if they call it an interception with Lee at QB, but we got completely screwed on that call.
Go ahead call me an idiot, ask me if I am satisfied with the loss, blah blah blah. Just know that you are an idiot ranter and know nothing about football. To all the knowledgeable fans out there, this isn't intended for you.

Amen, brother.
If the whole "fire Miles" crew has such a chubby for Saban, maybe they should just become Bama fans. I'm sure they'd take em'. The Gumps don't seem to have a great eye for loyalty.

We'll see what the Gumps' reaction when Nicky leave Bama, (and he will, eventually). He's proven it's all about the money. Someone's bound to open their pocketbooks up, eventually.

Very well written Bear. I couldn't agree more. Unfortunatley, the ranters who it's intended for won't understand.

I don't think many of these clowns realize that a play doesn't work for many reasons, only one of which is that it was a bad/wrong play.
Even if it's a good play call, sometimes the offensive guy screws up, sometimes the defensive guy outperforms, and sometimes it's just chance.

Well said. I'm not satisfied with the loss, but there is no blame to be assigned here (except the refs who need an arse-whoopin). Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we would have won the game had we gotten that int, but clearly our chances fell dramatically on that one play.
At the beginning of the year most people were predicting 9-3. Some were predicting better, some were predicting worse. Well, from the look of things it isn't likely to be worse.
After UW, people were saying we were headed to another 7-5 season, that we sucked in pretty much every phase of the game, and that we would never be able to correct these problems. Well guess what, our Defense turned things way around didn't they. Thank you LES MILES! Last year our turnover ratio killed us... guess what, we fixed that. Thank you LES MILES! No we aren't back to dominating our opponents... yet, but we are clearly getting there.
And you know what... I hear people complain about our play calling every damn week and hear how much better it would be if Saban were head coach. I seem to remember everyone going apeshit when Saban and Jimbo were here because the offense was so boring and predictable. Maybe you wankers should just STFU!
Thanks Bear... okay I'm done ranting now...

great post and a damn accurate one. this board has some lulu's posting for sure. it is difficult to assess their reality. it seems like every week i feel like i'm watching a completely different game than some of these guys. i sincerely believe that if we won every game they would still call for miles head. some of them think saban should be our coach. never mind the reality that he's not and under contract with bama. last year they wanted mark richt. this year it's whatever team is haveing a good year. i think it's best to ignore these blind chicken littles.
