Bear's Restaurant and Bear's Grill and Spirits

Is this 2 different entities? My dad was talking about how Bear's in Covington has the best roast beef and I just ate at Bear's Grill and Spirits up here in Baton Rouge and thought they had pretty good roast beef, too. According to the Bear's Grill and Spirits website, they have 2 locations on the Northshore in Mandeville and Slidell, but said they were once in Covington.

Same ownership. Bear's from the northshore recently bought 50% of Sangria and now the Bears name and menu are on the place with the Sangria ownership running the bar and nightlife aspect.

I'm not questioning if Bear's Grill and Spirits is related to the one in Mandeville and Slidell, but if there is a "Bear's Restaurant" in Covington that is separate ownership from the "Bear's Grill and Spirits" in Mandeville.

From what I understand, its one and the same.

First time, Roast beef Po-Boy without a doubt. I am a NOLA food snob and Bear's has one of the three or four best I have ever had.

Roast beef or shrimp. The chicken wings appetizer is amazing.

I can't debate your claim Lester. It really is a great sandwhich.

I've eaten all 3 on the Northshore.
I am convinced that the one in Covington is a different owner. The roast beef in Covington is heads and tails better than the rest.
I noticed that the menus at Slidell and Mandeville doesn't mention the Covington one.
Something's different.

Roast beef was kind of dry but I got it to go think it will work out at sangria but also had the bbq beef and was off the chain.

Which location?
The gravy fries do kick arse.
BTW, while the Slidell location isn't as good as Covington, there ain't much to eat over here.

I remember when Bears poboys was in a portable building, the size of a snowball stand. It was located in the parking lot of the true Value hardware in Mandeville.
