Neither Chad Jones or Patty P a Thorpe Award Finalist

I figured at least one of them would be one of the ten finalists.

I think they will settle for being "rich motherfricker finalists" in a year or so

They should be but the backers gobble up all the tackles and qb's refuse to throw towards PP, so it is hard to get the stats to argue their case

so much of these rewards depend on your preseason hype.
Neither of them had a whole bunch of national hype going into the season. So they would need great stats to be finalists.
And our LBs are playing great so CJ isnt getting a bunch of tackles so the stats arent there
And PP doesnt have great stats because noone ever throws at him.

until they come up with a stat for times avoided by the opposing QB, this will continue to be the case for him.

It is definitely a preseason hype thing, he needs to keep it going to get on the list for next year

It's all good. Chad Jones already has his share of the hardware that actually counts. And, for all intents and purposes, after next year they will probably change the name of the award to The PP Award.

PP wont have the stats to be an AA. you dont get to be an AA out of just "respect" people just dont throw his way.

If people would stop being fans for a minute and watch Chad Jones objectively they would see that he is not that good. He has all the tools but he has not translated that into the stud he could be. He is living largely on hype right now. I think Chavis has helped him turn the corner but he's not a Thorpe type player yet.

Lack of stats did not prevent me from being an AA last year.

I think Auburn only threw it once in PP's direction in the lsu auburn game and it was for like 2 yards
