Is this the least anticipated LSU / Tulane game ever?

For many reasons this game does not feel like the 'old days' of the rivalry...
We don't play every year anymore.
When we do play it is not 2 days after Thanksgiving like it almost always was.
Tulane is not very good (even for them) this year
We don't really recruit the same players anymore
The Halloween day distraction
The real rivalry of the 40s, 50s, 60s is history to all but a few long-time fans of both teams.
I don't know what it is, but we could be playing Montana State and it would almost feel the same. It's kinda sad that the old days of wheelbarrow ride bets and the like are gone.

Yes

Yes, but we should still get excited at the prospect of hanging about 60 on them!

I more excited about Tigergreg's avatar.

I'm young, but I don't ever remember an LSU/Tulane game having much hype. I'm sure it was back in the day though.

Long gone are the wheelbarrow rides. Loser pushes the winner in a wheelbarrow. I knew guys that would bet on painting their houses the other school's colors when they lost. It's lost its luster. Hard to get excited without much competition.

I think it has a lot to do with the Nov. 7 match-up that is awaiting us. Generally, I agree with everything posted about us not battling for the same recruits, their program not being a fraction of what is what during the old days of the rivalry. But, even still, I think given a normal season where we are facing them for the last time for an indefinite amount of time, I think this game would be somewhat meaningful. If for nothing else, I think everyone would at least be pumped to go out and hammer them into the ground one last time for old times sake.
However, given this seasons scenario that we are currently in, and such a big game/season all leading up to/hinging upon the Nov. 7 game, this match-up just isn't going to get any ones attention/focus. Our team has their sights set on something much higher that will require Nov. 7 to attain, thus, leaving this game as something of a purgatory.

I'm anxiously awaiting it to get over with so we'll be that much closer to Bama. Does that count?

I can't believe some of our fans are going to skip the game due to...Halloween?
Really? Halloween?
If dressing up in a costume really means that much to you, just wear some sort of outfit to the game itself.
The game will end at 10 PM. That leaves plenty of time to go out afterwards. In fact, the scantily clad women will be well lubricated by that hour. You'll just spare yourself three hours of prattle concerning their family/school/friends/dreams/hair/obsession with the Twilight movies/profession/traumatic relationships/sorority drama/shopping trips/favorite pets/shoes.

Since 1949, LSU leads the series 45-4-2. So, to find a real rivalry, you have to go way, way back in the day.
