Look at recent trends of two teams heading in opposite directions:

LSU has not given up more than 13 points per game for its last three opponents - 13 to Georgia and Florida and 10 to Auburn.

LSU's being at the "bottom" of the SEC in offensive statistics were not indicative last week vs. Auburn and won't be against Tulane this week. Look for LSU to continue this improvement with time and start separating itself from opponents in the score department even more.

Alabama's defense has been stout all year, no question, but their offense is struggling and is no longer blowing out opponents.

Couple this with the fact that visiting teams in this series continue to have success, and I like LSU's chances. Alabama is a great team, the only difference is that this year's team's luck will run out sooner that last year.

The real question is where we will be ranked in the BCS after this game.

Bama blowout? What kinds of teams do they blowout now? The only thing Alabama will be blowing out is 17 candles which signifies the 17 years it has been since its last National Championship. Can't wait until they because legal next year either!

I don't really have a dog in this fight, but I will be surprised if your offense even scores a touchdown against Alabama.

And Bama's offense has "struggled" all season against good defenses.....but they score enough to win and should against LSU, too.

They had their "off week" against UT and will not be due for another one in just two weeks.....

all miles has to do is get them to believe. They have to look past the challege. Forget who saban and his overinflated reputation means. This bama team reminds me of one of our worse lsu teams this decade (not last year) maybe 02 or 04. Last year they were blowing people out. This team is not as good as last years. If miles can get them to play up to or beyond their potential for one game, bama doesn't stand a chance in my opinion.

You cannot tell me for one second that bamas offense is better then floridas. Maybe equal but not better. And florida got a bs touchdown.

I am just not impressed with this bama team.

lsu however is dangerous, and everyone knows it, but won't admitt it.

after a minute or two the team will realize, hey there not anymore physical or better then us. We cant beat that arse!!!!

they have peaked we have not. tHE season is all about momentum and we have it coming.

Gonna be fun reguardless.

Oh. A player like shepard has always given saban fits.

If he has a breakout game LOOKOUT!!! he is just now getting used to college speed.

It is not equal, but in case you have not noticed, Florida has just been coasting for weeks.

I think there may be more to Tebow's concussion than we are hearing about, since their offense really has not thrived against any opponent since he went down.

So your measuring stick is not a good one at all......

That's good, because even though you are trying to tell us that we lost to Florida too, the rematch is coming soon and that game won't be close either. In the middle is an Ole Miss team too so you should enjoy our show as well.

Game will be defined by defense. We're still in a developmental stage on offense and GMac fricking sucks.

B/c of this IMO LSU D vs. Bama D is equal in this particular match-up....and let's be honest, defense all comes down to how many points you give up. LSU has given up 6-7 points more than Bama for the year.

Defensive stuggles are defined by a few key/big plays throughout the game.

LSU big play potential/play-makers >>> Bama's

LSU wins.

I really like your optimism but Bama's defense has made QB's look stupid this year...and most of these QBs are better than our's. Do you really think Jefferson will fare better against this defense than, say, a Jevan Sneed?

i still think florida is a good measuring stick. bama has a young qb, and we are finally starting to get presure. I could see us getting more presure each game. Coleman and shepard have been having great games. I think woods and alem are playing better.

I can recall many time when a really good run team or passing team is sensational for weeks, only to run into a brick wall. I think ingram is fixing to run into a chavis wall. I have faith in him to stop ingram and richardson. They are one dimensional and we have the athletes. It will take someone like chavis to get it done.

mote did all the work!!!!

Does a number matter or do you just want to surpass SC? lol......well no worries, we will be ranked ahead of them this sunday. Rankings don't mean anything right now........win out and we are most likely in. Winning is what matters!

I also have a feeling that bama has more presure to win then we do.

that can't be any fun.

The only part of your story that was incorrect is the part where you said... "Bama is a great team." Bama is not a great team. They have a strong defense but are very inconsistent on offense. If we don't beat them then the better team didn't win. I love LSU in this one.

Snead's a much better quarterback than Jefferson, but he was "in a funk" when we played Bama.....so that was not the best measure of the Bama defense, either.

Why do you say this, dreaux? I see him getting sacked early and often. He simply cannot hold the ball against this defense like he has been doing all season.
