Alright, this will be my first ever post, so hello to all...

Hoping not to start off on the wrong foot with anybody, I just want to critique our Tigers a little bit and see if you all notice some of these same hopefully minor problems.

Firstly I am not one to try and rain on anybody's parade. I totally agree that we played our most complete game of the season saturday and could not be happier with the effort and performance. That being said...

The running game :/
Lets take out RS's score;
31 rushes for 53 yards...avg of less than 2 ypc
Against a less than impressive Auburn defense..

I do believe bama's defense is jus a tad more talented. JJ did wonderful saturday, but will he be able to keep it up against this highly rated bama defense without any kind of a running game? Or will the running game finally get on track and atleast make bama and satan's defense honest?

I do believe the Tigers will continue to improve like they have all year, but its just hard to convince myself that we can beat Alabama with basically a non existent running game...GEAUX TIGERS!

So if I say except for one play, the running game was bad you would disagree?

You will have to work on your negativity if you plan to continue posting here. Overall not bad for a first post.

Dont concern yourself too much. LSU will do whatever it takes to get the "w" from this point further.

I took out their field goal and caudle's garbage TD and we shut them out completely.

Also I added 12 more inches to Trindon and saw him make 3 more TD catches.

We win 52-0

Take away 10's run?

While we're at it, let's just add back the TD that 9 fumbled, and the two missed field goals and pretend that Auburn didn't score the last TD.

Final score - LSU 44 Auburn 3

All kidding aside - to all Ranters -- statistics do not matter as much as the final score. That is all. Win. Move on. SEC football that is the name of the game.

You cannot take away RS's great run. All the two, three, yarders that don't look like much set up for that run in the -- wait for it -- late 3rd quarter when the dominant team brings in a fresh set of talented and fast legs (number 10 for LSU) who takes a seam in the D and brings it to the house.

SEC football is a game of attrition. It always has been and always will be.

Alabama - UT -- why does Mr. KoolAid block that kick at the end. 1) He is really good right now and 2) the UT guys are just exhausted (attrition) having had to block him all day.

The 6 points RS scored and the 69 yards both count and credit the Tigers for the single best play of the whole season.

Welcome to the Rant.

Somehow it is difficult to get this point across - no matter how many times we say it or in how many different ways we post it.

Sometimes, but looking at the running game without the one huge play is significant, wouldn't you agree? If LSU scores 40 points is every game vs 0 points in 11 games and 480 in one game then they have the same average but with much different results. Lots of stats throw out the most extreme sample at each end.

I will not convince myself that the running game is solid because one big play brought the average up. If a RB can pick up 4 yards on every carry, you score every drive. If a RB is stuffed on 9 straight carries then breaks an 80 yard on the tenth, you score on one in three drives with double the rushing yards per carry average. Point being, standard deviation (not just mean) is also important.

well lets factor in the RS's run

thats 32 for 122 for 3.8 ypc...

individually

RS 6 for 71 including 68 yd long(1 td)
JJ 12 for 26 including 15 yd long(1 td)
Chuck 10 for 20
Trindon 2 for 8
Keiland 1 for 4
JoJo 1 for -7

Still not well enough to win the big game in my opinion...

Yes you can for the sake of analyzing the running game. There is nothing illegitimate about removing Shep's run to determine we were ineffective in that area of the game. We simply had no running game against Auburn Saturday night and its only going to be more difficult to run the ball between the tackles against Bama. This is a real concern knowing Saban will not hesitate to bring it at JJ. We have to establish the run otherwise JJ will feel the heat all game long.

The thing about our rushing woes in this game is the fact that for the most part Auburn stacked the box and left Lafell and TT in man coverage for most of the night.

I do not mind the rishing average because in this game when we need that 1-2 yds we managed to pick it up unlike previously in the season.
