true...even during the lavalais years when our defenses would flat out scare opponents, we seldom tried to block punts....

trouble with attempting to block punts is, at best your returner gets to fair catch for no return....leave a returner all alone back there and some pretty nasty things can happen....

at the same time, if we attempt to block a punt, then the line has to stay back and actually block the players which prevents them from setting up a wall...it would be our athlete vs their athlete for the tackle
