Lsu/Rice 1962 Ended in a 6-6 Tie.

Not a great way to start off watching the Tigers.

LSU/Tulane ~1991...

A male cheerleader for Tulane ran the perimeter of the field with the Tulane flag. I became a lifelong Tiger fan when I watched the LSU student section cover him and the flag in nacho cheese and bourbon. Also, getting to sing "Assholes, Assholes" at pregame and chanting "bullshite" after every call against LSU set my 8-year-old heart on fire. To be that age again...

One of the Alabama games back in the mid-60's.

My uncle (A big Bama fan who lived in Tuscaloosa) would get us tickets to the LSU-BAMA game every other year in TS. The tickets in TS were always right down there in the lower SE corner in the middle of the Gump section next to the MDB. I grew up hating that UA fight song, those red and white shakers and all that Bama shite because they won every game I attended.

Remember visiting him in T-Town one year during spring practice. He had passes to get us into one of their "closed" practices. Remember seeing Bear Bryant up close on his tower and that new "fake grass" that was installed on one of the practice fields.........

The UF game in '97...I was 15. AWESOME GAME of course...The funny thing is, I was wearing a Gator Starter Jacket! However, my dad took me and 4 friends back to the ND game. That was the coldest freaking game I have ever attended in TS. My friends and I thought it would be a good idea to take our shirts off to help the Tigers rally. However, I was still a Gator fan at this time.

While watching the independence bowl that year, I became a Tiger fan!!! I loved watching LSU whoop up on ND!!!

My first game was against Texas A&M back in either 1961 or 62 when my whole family went from New Orleans. Then on New Years Day 1965, I was serving mass and as it ended the priest turned to me and the other altar boy and said pick a number between 1 and 4, so I said 4 and then he told the other guy, don't bother picking, he just picked the number and Father offered me his Sugar Bowl ticket. I said yes and my mom and dad drove me up to Tulane Stadium and I had 45 yard line seats for LSU vs Syracuse. The Tigers won on Doug Moreau's FG. It was a gorgeous winter afternoon sunny and cold.

Then in 1968, I enrolled at LSU and my first game was against Texas A&M and we won 13-12. That season we lost at Miami (on a Friday night), and to Ole' Miss in the last minute (to some flashy sophmore QB named Archie) and at Alabama.

And I almost forgot, we went to a brand new bowl game in Atlanta, The Peach Bowl and the Tigers beat Bill Peterson's Florida State team 31 to 27.

The year we stopped Auburn just short and pulled a big upset when DiNardo was starting to rebuild, i think it was 1995.

Good defensive game. The Cuse was good back then. They had two RBs, Jim Nantz, and Floyd Little, who had good NFL careers. Big George Rice tackled Little for a safety, and set the tone for the day. I'm pretty sure that they were favored.

The earthquake game. We left early and listened on the radio. Why the hell did we try to beat traffic.

Went to the 59 Lsu vs TCU game. Remember LSU had a goal line stand and beat them 6 to 0. I think TCU was in the top ten. Then we got season tickets in 1961. The first game was against Texas A&M . We sat in the southeast corner and I thought those aggie cheerleaders were the strangest thing I had ever seen in my 10 years. That was as good an LSU team as I had seen before the 03 team.

My first game was the worst lost in LSU history, when Steve Spurrier and the gators beat us like 53 to 3. Been a Die Hard ever since

Notre Dame vs LSU

Believe it was '81. Dalton Hilliard had his longest run as a Tiger....81 yards, I think.

Alan Pinkett tore us up and LSU lost something like 31 - 21

DAY GAME!

Goal line stands were frequent back then.

Didn't TCU have an top RB named Spikes, and Bob Lilly the HOF DT with the Cowboys.

I was 8 in 59. Just remember Cannon as linebacker stuffing the runner at the goal line.

I was 13. Cannon was a great defensive player, as was Johnny Robinson.

Utah State 2001

LaBrandon Toefield had 4 TDs and there was a rainbow for most of the first quarter. I started out with tickets in the upper deck and traded around until I was ground level in the handicap section

LSU V Colorado Sept 11, 1971.

Colorado 31 LSU 21 Bert Jones started (I think). I remember people booing him and generally being critical and negative of his play. There were also the usual calls to fire cholly mac. Does any of this sound familiar?

Fans changed their tune later in the year when we beat ND 28-8 in Tiger Stadium.
