if you missed it, the Bengals DC's wife passed unexpectedly last week. She is the mother of Saints LB coach Adam Zimmer. The starting LB's accompanied him to the funeral today. Nice touch.

Vikki Zimmer’s daughters, Corri and Marki, babysat Sean and Beth Payton’s kids Connor and Meghan when the husbands coached together in Dallas.
“I’d come home and there’d be something for Connor from Vikki,” Payton recalled Tuesday. “It’d be a basket or something. And it wouldn’t even be for his birthday. It would be like for his first day of school or something.

This illustrates the classy guys that are on and leading this time. This makes me as proud to be a Saints fan as when we win on Sundays.

God bless the Zimmers.

that's really awesome. i had no idea we had that kind of connection to their family on our coaching staff. she seems like such a great woman. adam zimmer is only 25?? and already an assistant linebacker coach on a separate team from his father. pretty cool.

(side note- i see our qb coach is the grandson of vince lombardi. pretty neat as well)

prayers to their family.

I didn't know the son was our lb coach. I was out of town that weekend, but how did she die?

They haven't announced a cause of death besides "natural cause".

And That was really touching that the father asked Beth Payton to look after Adam.
