Went last night for the first time. I think it is very good. It may in fact be my favorite pizza in BR (between them and Mellow Mushroom).

Great crust and great red sauce. Calzones looked good, but didn't get to try one. Didn't get to try the ice cream either, but I will next time.

If you own this place, and happen to read this, please advertise. I don't like to drive all the way across town to Mellow Mushroom when I want a good pizza. I hope you make it.

I think they are trying a "soft opening" working out all the bugs etc.

I'm going for lunch today.

Here is my take on the place:

oven: conveyor

crust: hand-tossed but not sure if house made dough. The crust is nice and chewy. The middle was a bit soggy from too much sauce.

Toppings: great variety. We went with meatball, roasted green peppers, onions and garlic.

Service: Not bad. Pizza takes awhile.

Kids: they are everywhere. They have a kids meal of a slice, fruit and ice cream.

Ice cream: This is an afterthought. The scoop I tried was chocolate. It was rubbery. They do not have ice cream parlor items, which surprised me.

Cost: 44 dollars for a large and two kids meals. Toppings are a whopping $2.00 a piece.

The large is 16". I like my large to be at least 20".

I am looking forward to trying the roux-based tomato sauce.

So looking at your other comments it aint worth the $44.00? Is this correct?

Went there last Friday and got the D & A Gumbo pizza...Duck, alligator and andouille sausage, on a roux base. Pretty good. Got the stuffed mushrooms for app and it was good, but not worth the $13 for just 4 of them. Looking forward to try the other pizzas...very ambitious menu.

I went there last Friday night. I have to say the French Onion Bisque was delicious! I was, however, slightly surprised at the prices on the appetizers though. Mostly, they were priced over $10, but they do look tasty.

The Cajun Cowboy Specialty Pizza was very good as well.

My boyfriend tried the stuffed mushrooms, and we both agreed those were not worth $13 either, but everything else was enjoyable.

I do find the prices a bit steep. They did, however, intrigue me enough to return.

1 Calzone and 1 Bud Light Draft = 18.80

I got the veggie and added pepperoni. I felt the dough had the same consistency and flavor as Mellow mushroom. That is a plus for me, but I'm sure others would disagree.

Pros: They were generous with the toppings. I also liked the marinara, it had a spice to it. The beer was a pint for $2.50. The place was clean (newish building) and well staffed. The variety of toppings was a plus.

Cons: I could see how it could be slow there at times. It took about 25 minutes to get it made and business was pretty slow at the time. I'd imagine that their smaller overs could cause the issue with higher volume. But it didn't really take any longer than I expected.

Although the calzone was big it was rather pricey and there is no option to get a smaller pizza or calzone for cheaper. It would be nice if there was an option for something smaller/cheaper.

Definitely overpriced, but very tasty.

The gumbo pizza was delicious. Had to eat mosst of it with a fork and knife. The majority of my table was disappointed in their salads, especially considering the steep prices. Cookies and cream ice cream was not what I expected, but very good. It was more of a cookie-dough flavor than the typical oreo one I was expecting.

Possibly the best pizza I've had in BR, but I haven't tried too many places. If it were reasonably priced I'd definitely make a return visit, but as a college student, I sure as hell won't be going back unless my parents are in town and willing to pay.

never been to Fleur De Lis. Have always wanted to.

Been to Pastimes many times. Honestly not as crazy about it as others but it's a neat BR tradition.
