Something to think about since we play Auburn next...

Last year Auburn quarterback Chris Todd split time with Kodi Burns. Midway through the season he was benched and Kodi Burns played the rest of the year at QB.
2008:
Chris Todd- 903 yards 5 TDs and 6 INTs
Kodi Burns- 1050 yards 2 TDs and 7 INTs
After 2008 Kodi Burns was moved to a WR/RB/Wildcat position leaving Chris Todd, who was benched the year before, as the starter for 2009.
2009:
Chris Todd- 1363 yards 12 TDs and 1 INT
Kodi Burns has been used successfully in his new position and has thrown 1 TD (3 for 8 passing) and rushed for 4 TDs. He lines up at Wildcat, RB, WR and throws on reverse passes and other trick plays. This has worked pretty well for Auburn this year.
I am just posting this to show that QBs do improve and just because someone started at the end of last year doesn't mean he should be starting now. I am in no way suggesting that Jefferson switches positions although I think it would be interesting to see both JJ and JL on the field at the same time. Shepard should also be used more in the way that Auburn uses Kodi Burns.

surgery on Todd's throwing shoulder during the off-season also has helped him greatly

Maybe JJ needs shoulder surgery?

Also, in 2007 Kodi Burns had his first start in the Chic-fil-a Bowl and tore it up against some scrub ACC school...Burns was praised as the next big thing
He crashed and burned a a starting QB and us now a gimmick player
Hmmmmmm...

+1
He literally was not physically capable of throwing deep last year. By the time he was benched he was limited to mere screens and short slants. The only reason he got the nod was because Franklin swore by the guy and he was a much smarter QB than Burns.

Brandon Cox started that game and Burns was brought in occasionally. He ran most of the time and only completed a few passes. The praise came from his awesome play in overtime when he rushed for the GW touchdown.
