Was UF offense really vanilla? I don't think so.

I have seen this a bunch on this Board and lord knows Gary D. kept telling us over and over again. But, don't you think if UF could have beat us by 50 they would have? This is not last year's UF team. What you saw last night is what they do this year. Don't let CUM fool you into thinking they didn't try to beat us bad. They avg. 43 rushes and last night they ran 48. They avg. 22 passes and last night they passed 16. Jesus averages 14 rushes a game and last night he ran 17. This doesn't look vanilla or "holding" back to me. They played their game and our "D" played well. Quit making it seem like UF didn't play "their" game or try to beat us bad. They did. Fact is they are much better defensively than offensively.

UF is a run first team this year. With our rushing attack it makes the clock keep running and limits the number of times the other team gets the ball.
We don't have the big play receiver as we have had in the past. Thompson is still fresh and has been injured most of the year. What you saw is pretty much the 2009 UF team.

1. how many dive plays did they run? about 20?
2. they were obviously protecting tebow and didn't want him thinking too much
3. meyer punted on 4th and inches

How many do they ordinarily run?
2. they were obviously protecting tebow and didn't want him thinking too much
WTF? He couldn't think now? STFU!
3. meyer punted on 4th and inches
After going for it on 4th and failling
A UF fan posted in this thread that what we saw is representative of Florida's offense this year. 2 Florida fans I spoke to in the stadium during the game said this years FLorida offense is not all that (run first, no explosion). What we saw was Florida. What we stopped was Florida.
Why should we believe you, SFP? Are you an expert on FLorida as well as the Tigers, Saints, and all other sports. GTFO with your self proclaimed expert bullshite.
If anyone believes Meyer intentinally left points off the board at LSU in front of a PRIMETIME National audience, they are plain fricking stupid.
Some people profess to be LSU fans but refuse to give any credit to LSU under Miles' regime. Chavis' defense held Florida to 13 (16) points, Kudos! Crowton/Miles' offense scored 3 points, Damn!!!

1) Have you watched their other games? You think they run 48 sweeps a game? I think they probably average about 20 a game.
2) Really? Was it obvious because Gary D. kept telling us over and over again that was the case. Does that make it true? He rushed the ball 17 times, which was more than he avg per game on the year? Did he run a little timid? Maybe, or maybe the D played him pretty well.
3) He had no reason to go for it. He knew the only way they get beat is to give us the ball with a short field. This is not "holding" back or playing timid. That was a good coaching decision.

they didn't need too considering the fact they were going against an offense that is currently ranked 109 in the country and they didn't want to rehurt tebow. The bye week is behind them and need to have a healthy florida team which they hadn't had in about 3 weeks.

he punted on a 4th and inches in the 2nd half. I almost fell out of my seat.

Once again, if you watch the 2009 UF team this is what they do. They don't have the skill players on the edge to do what they did last year. My point is, last night was not some anomaly. They played the way the 2009 UF team has to.

This is what I told the Gator fans sitting behind me in the SEZ. They agreed it was possible.

He had a banged up qb. I didn't see tebow run crazy through tiger stadium last night. thats the foundation of their offense. I saw a bunch of dives last night.

It was vanilla in that they didn't let Tebow throw the deep ball which has been a big part of our offense in recent years.
But this was a result of three things:
- unproven receivers
- not wanting to risk turning the ball over
- not wanting to have Tim sit in the pocket the length of time it would take for someone to get open deep
Also it did seem like a lot of the plays called took a lot of the decision making out of Tim's hands. In a lot of those dive plays, Tim will often read the DE and decide whether to hand it off or pull it out. Tim handed it off almost 80% of the time. A lot of Tim's runs were improvised as opposed to being called or Tim making the decision to pull the ball out.

Did you read the OP? Or just ignore it? What we saw was their offense this year. It isn't pretty. BUT HOLDING THEM TO 13 POINTS IS IMPRESSIVE.
