What exactly do you ppl expect Crowton to do with JJ at QB

1) He cannot run the option
2) He's inaccurate as hell
3) He cannot and will not throw deep
4) He has no pocket awareness
5) He's timid. His call up to the booth in the Ga. game proved that
6) He drops back 7 to 10 steps on most passes
7) He takes forever to wind up on his release
8) He's gets "happy feet"
9) He requires a simplified playbook
So what set of plays do you think Crowton can be successful with? Gary is pretty much limited in what direction he can go, cuz JJ is struggling with what little he has thrown at him thus far.
The thing Crowton has to answer for is not giving another QB enough series to see what they can do. But he might be afraid of shattering JJs confidence if he does. He's really painted himself into a corner this year.
And with all the seniors we lose on both sides of the ball next yr, Crowton needs to start prepping for that reality, and JJ is in no way shape or form, ready to be the sole playmaker on this team.

the only surprise is how bad offensively we are
the lack of qb production isn't shocking at all

The coaching mistakes in the past season and a half has really cost LSU.
Put Lee in a bad spot last year, and because Lee messed up, they coach scared.
I honestly don't know what they are going to do.
But frick, the o-line is terrible, and I don't think lee going back behind center would fix it.
At this point though, I think you need to give Lee a series, just to see what he looks like.

Find a QB who CAN do at least SOME of those things on your list... or has the capability.

Well, we know from media reports that JLee does #1 better in practice
quote:
1) He cannot run the option
We also know from watching him last year that JLee is better at #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, and #9
quote:
3) He cannot and will not throw deep
4) He has no pocket awareness
5) He's timid. His call up to the booth in the Ga. game proved that

So there is more to why JLee is not playing than the fact it led the offense better. I mean when you're are one of the 10 worst offenses in the nation, you gotta change up something.

Also, a college QB should want the ball. At the end of the GA game, Jefferson did not want the ball in his hands.
Scott bailed both he and miles out.

This is a miserable feeling being a fan...

He should probably try coaching him a little.

I wonder what he thought he could do with HATCH?

Young QB's can be so frustrating to watch, and it sure can be even worse with a weak OL to magnify their deficiencies.

Okay, how many of the following do you really believe have NOTHING to do with Crowton's coaching abilities?

1) He cannot run the option

He did not want the ball in his hands at GA at crunch time. Crowton called play action, Jeff protested. Luckily Scott bailed them out.

Because, just like Lee, his mechanics suck. He throws like a starting pitcher working from the stretch. It looks ridiculous.

This can be worked on. Surely, there must be some drills where a QB can be taught to throw the ball away rather than be sacked?

Teach him good fundamentals?
