Question -- Tent frames on campus

Does anyone know the rules for putting up tent frames on campus -- like in areas along and around Stadium Drive that require parking passes to access with vehicles. Is it 5 PM on Friday or can you put frames up at any time, will that be permitted before Friday afternoon?
Last year and this year are my first seasons in Baton Rouge after being out of state for many years and I can't really get to campus during the day so I'm not sure what goes on. I usually put up a frame Friday afternoon but am wondering if it will be differnt this week. Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can start setting them up at 5 but you may want to contact the athletic directors office through an email. They usually respond very timely.

It's 4 PM on Friday... can't block traffic, sidewalks, etc..

Last year, some goofball put up a tent frame right where we've been tailgating for over 12 years. We got there at 7:00 the next morning and just move the frame to the side. When the guy showed up at 11:00 he was all pissed off. I think he really thought that he was "saving" that spot by putting up his frame the day before.

Actually, he was right. No spaces are reserved and only an A-hole would move someone else’s tent.

Thanks guys. I know people set up along Nicholson and "off" campus, non reserved lots early because you have no choice. We're fortunate to have a parking pass this year and I am just not sure what the deal is. Last year and so far this year it's worked out by parking a vehicle and setting up a frame Friday night, but I missed the two big games last year (UGA, Bama) because my son was born in late October. (well I went to Bama but didn't tailgate).
I wouldn't think you could set up a tent frame today on campus but like I said, I have not been here (or at least in charge of organizing) for "big" games like this week.

Yea, you're an a-hole. There is no such thing as your spot. If someone puts up a tent before yo,u guess what... it's there spot for that day. Now you could try to be polite when the owner gets there, but you chose to be the a-hole thinking you are entitled to "your spot." People like you suck.

First, I don't get there at 11. So I can see your point with trying to show up late. But if I'm out there before 8, like I always am if I'm tailgating; and some "entitled" asshat moved my tent, there will be a problem.
However, moving someone's tent is a completely dickhead maneuver.

That's what I'm saying. I mean, when he showed up I would have help him set up and all.
We had guys move in on our spot last year, but we had only been there 5 years or so. We didn't care. We just pushed over a couple of feet, but if I was there for 12 years and it was a prime area, then this new guy shouldn't be upset about moving over 10 feet or so.

That doesn't make one iota of difference. I don't care if Jesus has been tailgating on the left hand side of the parade grounds for 2000 years, if my shite is there first, it's my spot for that day. I can't stand old farts that think they own a spot. Get your stuff out there the day before like everyone else. It's a byproduct of championship level football. Deal with it.

I have a pass in lot C and usually set up my tents and tables on Friday afternoon in the same location every time. Most folks in our area near the bathroom have been there for years and we all respect each other's spaces for the most part. That being said, I will set up camp a little earlier than usual this week for obvious reasons. I have everything in the grass and out of everyone's way.

It's a fine line. First, no group should feel entitled to a given spot on any given day and it's a dick move to move people's stuff if they are making an honest effort to get out there and put the time in on Friday to put up a frame. However, what is the reasonable cut off for saving spots with tent frames?
It's also a dick move to set up a frame and not show up till 2 PM. I get people not being able to be out there at 7, 8, or 9 AM considering most people work in the week, some have kids, and sometimes have to get shite done before tailgating, but anything past noon is taking rudeness it in the other direction.
