Listening to Brian Kenny show on sirius last night while on the road... Beano Cook was his guest and Brian asked what is the "best college football" setting? Beano said there's some great ones like the swamp, the horseshoe, nebraska, etc. But he said there is no place like LSU Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night!

And yet, he has NEVER been.
He talks about reputation alone.

My dad grew up hearing the WWL broadcasts in Pittsburgh, just like Beano. It was the only night game. There is a mythology that has built to consensus. I sure hope Tiger fans uphold it this year.

Verne lunquist only time was 2007 and he said it didn't disappoint...so I think beano would do the same as verne if he ever came.

I will agree. The tailgating is second to none.
Been a few times and the food is great. The fans, at least before the game, are very nice as well. The stadium is close to the top in the SEC. Still partial to BHG as far as noise goes. My only issue is the parking in turn lanes or anywhere else you want.

Beano Cook wasn't at the ULL and Vandy games in 2009. In the last few years, Tiger Stadium's mystique has been changed to

We were in bumper to bumper traffic after the '07 game for 30 mins and did not move. We pulled back into the lot and parked for 2 hours for a little post game tailgate.
