I just wanted to thank all of you out there for all of your help with our trip from Nova Scotia to NOLA and LSU this coming weekend. We will be leaving Thursday morning and I may not have a chance to post something before I go.

Over the past number of months, I have asked for advice on various topics on this board. I have also read many of the threads.

I have never been to Louisiana or Tiger Stadium.
I have been to a bunch of classic venues and rivalry games (Gators - Tennessee in Gainesville; Texas - OU in Dallas; ND-USC in South Bend; Ole Miss - MSU in Oxford and the UA - AU in Tuscaloosa), however, I have never had this type of welcoming. I have been blown away by the friendliness and hospitality of the LSU fan base. I have no doubt that I will be in for an experience of a life time. Well done Tiger fans, well done.

Thanks again to everyone. We'll see you Friday and Saturday in Baton Rouge. We'll be the wandering Canadian dudes with the funny accents.

And, I'll be screaming myself hoarse on Saturday night.

WTH would they need to bring booze? Just stop by any tail gate and mention it's your first time to Tiger Stadium, and how far you traveled.

You'll be in like Flynn! Hope you all have a great time!

Nasty British.

In the end, you are better off in Louisiana - way better weather.

Are you going to spend any time in New Orleans?? Or will you pretty much head straight to Baton Rouge upon arrival?

Oh..and do us a favor and keep the nasty weather in Canada. You are in for one hell of an experience either way, but if its not raining Saturday will be a once in a lifetime opportunity for you. It will probably be one for many LSU fans.

Relish it. I was there in '07 for the greatest game I've ever witnessed in person. So much drama (USC losing, all the 4th downs, etc.). Have a great time!

It depends on the weather.

We are staying in NOLA Thursday night. If it is nice, we are playing golf in the morning at TPC Louisiana, then driving the River Road towards Baton Rouge. We are planning to catch a high school football game, probably Destrehan @ Dutchtown. If we have time, we might stop and have bite to eat at Roberto's River Road Restaurant before the game. After we check into our BR hotel, I think we'll head to The Chimes for some beers and a snack.

If it's raining, golf is off. We'll brunch in NOLA and take a longer drive along the Mississippi and proabably do a tour of campus on Friday.

I have to say, this hobby that you have would be a dream of mine....I suppose the key is to get off your butt, plan it, and make it happen...hats off to you and your group for doing something that others only talk about....

It will be a pleasure to have you guys in Louisiana....enjoy your trip...

I strongly considered that game. Instaed I want to USC @ ND. It was a total blow out. I left half way through the 3rd quarter. No open flame in the parking lot. People were nice, and ND was alright, but I was pissed at myself for not going to the LSU UF game. I guess I am trying to learn from my mistakes.

Spankum, you are right all you have to do is decide to do it. Especially if you live in the south.

There are a few things you MUST do (if you haven't already been told):
1. watch the band walk down the hill
2. go see Mike the Tiger and his habitat
3. taste some alligator at someone's tailgate

Oh yea, and scream your arse off for the Tigers!!!

Have a safe trip!
