Has a radio show here in Florida. Yesterday, he said his son is being told he will start Saturday.

No, I don't have a link. I was riding in my truck when he said it.

Of course he is being told that. He has to be PREPARED to start.

if you can take everything said and use a little logic, its very easy to see that Brantley will start, Meyer has said almost as much

He must be prepared to go down like a Gator cheerleader at a duck sausage eating contest.

Scot Brantley is not his dad, it's his uncle who played linebacker at UF. His dad, John, also played QB at UF, but does not have a radio show. Scot does the radio broadcast for UF and also for Tampa Bay Bucs.

Broke Tebow's records in high school. He can play. Hopefully the Tigers will prevail Saturday.

The only other team I don't seem him starting at is Ole Miss. He's a RS Sophmore in the UF system for 3 years now. Any good QB in a system for 3 years that doesn't have Snead or Tebow in front of them would have Brantley as their number one. That includes UGA and Bama.

That's true... Like I said before. If he keeps throwing INT's this year he could the number one draft pick (See Matthew Stafford)

Brantley's a great QB. If he starts, and I think he will, that gives us some pluses. Florida's O will become a lot more pro style, we won't have to respect him as a runner/spread option QB. We'll definitely see how good our DB's are. As good as he is, he'll be making his first start in a top five, prime-time, nationally televised match up in one of the most hostile environments he can...will he sink or swim? Biggest thing, no matter how good a leader he is, he's not Tebow.

thats odd. his father is named John. uncle is scott.

which is of course irrelevant to whether or not the other information you gave is true, but hurts your credibility, especially if you're not linking your tidbit.

eta: didn't realize someone else already pointed this out, my bad.

agreed 100%. Just wanted to point out this isnt your average back up QB though. He can play. Can he handle the environment? we shall see.

Yes we will. Brantley is supposed to be an Alex Smith clone. Supposed to be faster than Tebow.

Thanks Geaux for posting that pic and bringing back the butt whipping memories from the Dawgs.

FWIW, the custom in many families is to name your son after a brother.

Thanks to the poster of this thread. I was confused when I read another thread giving evidence Tebow would not start. Thanks for clearing this all up.

Well damn, that sucks.

ETA: I hope the LSU coaches know more about him than I do.
