Secondary in the country on the CBS local postgame show. He said "Me and #7 are cool we been knowing each other since high school when he was the best DB in the country. We weren't trash talking. We just have a respect for each other. Him and Jones help make up the best defensive backfield in the country."

The only question I have is why was Hawkins playing man to man on that key defensive possession?

PP should have been on him all day long.

It sure would have been nice to have him covering Green on the touchdown catch.

Hawkins had him covered well, it was just a great play by Green.

AJ Green is easily one of my favorite non-LSU players, and this just solidifies that.

Hawkins had great coverage on Green in that play. Green is just a freak.

Peterson missed the TE in the endzone 2 weeks in a row. It was his man during the MS game and he let him slip by in the UG game. Still the best we have and possible the best in the nation at yrs end.

+1

And whoever said Hawkins has him well covered was right, but it was a clear mismatch and PP should have been on him especially in that situation

PP was lost on the big pass play that set up the TD, maybe they went with a zone D like they had for portions of the game.

it was definitely a zone D. he thought he had safety help over the top - whether he actually was supposed to i don't know

I agree Peterson should have covered Green all day. However its hard to imagine anyone could have covered him any tighter than Hawkins on that TD reception. It was just a great play by a great athlete.

Green and Peterson was a great match up. Looking forward to seeing PP vs. Julio Jones.

tis true. spectacular play, i'd say. really can't ask any more of Hawkins (although it would certainly have been great if he could have knocked it down)

We have great defenders and that play proved it. Quit dogging Hawkins or the coaches. How can anyone think that Peterson would have absolutely prevented that touchdown? Green made a great catch in spite of great coverage.

Trying to find a reason why LM's coaching isn't up to par? Internet coaching at it's finest, second guessing the coach's decisions forgetting the fact that IT WAS SUPERB COVERAGE.
