This is not unusual. Higher ranked teams are often the underdog.

Your dead on that. ESPN will be wondering how Richt keeps his job after loosing to a vastly over rated team like LSU. Especially when LSU was the dog.

you realize with the spread at -3.5 UGA at home means its an even game

its a basic home field advantage point spread wise

"often" is a strong word. Its more like sometimes. Just for the simple fact often, IMO, is closer to "all the time", than "sometimes".
