I dont think it matters about who the public knows compared to who the other players know. The players know who the studs are...they go to the camps etc and see who is who. That's what really matters. Will recruit X listen to Hill or collins and respect their info about LSU...and believe that they could be a part of a special class?

I think we're talking about recruiting players in the south..most specifically SE Texas and Louisiana of course. The players know and respect both of those guys...thats just a fact.

Huh?

Did you play high school ball?

I didnt play HS football, but played baseball and a little basketball. And i sure as hell knew who was who in the State and a few in Texas, Miss, and even Arkansas.

I dont know why we're even debating this.

Im going to bed anyhow. I think it will be great having those 2 recruits help with swaying maybe a couple of others who may have problems deciding.

You're on the wrong side of this argument, LE. Louisiana high school players know each other. They play against each other in games, attend the same summer camps, play in the same all-star games. Louisiana is loaded next year and will be LSU's main focus in recruiting. Thus, Hill and Collins, who are projected to be two of La's top players, could easily be said to have a potential impact on recruiting players to play for LSU.

See: Marcus Spears, Michael Clayton, Marquise Hill. Their effect even extended to non-Louisiana, regional players like Ben Wilkerson. These two may not be russel shepherd but it's ignorant to say that two of La's top recruit for 2011 can't recruit other kids effectively and have a real impact.

Are these guys really top-20 caliber prospects or are they another example of this board somewhat over hyping Louisiana talent?

im not sure

Collins is only listed at 6'4"

most former top lineman are taller than that

dont know much about Hill

others hint that one of them will be a top 10 national guy, i dont read recruiting sites much anymore, so im not sure who they are referring too

Hill and Collins may not have to go as far as Shepard. LSU could pull in a top 3 class by locking LA and pulling from TX and MS. First order of business for them should be swaying Johnson away from Tennessee.

Yeah We do.

We need to turn the Freak and we need to reel Rasco in.

Hill and Collins are good friends with Freak and they can help get Rasco on board.

We need all the help we can get with those two.
