Why isn't anyone pointing out that USC is only -19.5 favs @ U W
and LSU was-17.5 @ UW ....
Thats telling me the oddsmakers think USC is only 2 points stronger than LSU ......... Wait that can't be true , from what I been reading on this board that LSU don't deserved to be ranked in the top 10 !!
Well I guess USC don't deserved a top ten ranking either
I guess some people on here know more than the oddsmakers

I did not realize that. But remember...Washington was our first game and no one really knew where the Tigers really were. I think we got a lot more credit than we deserved, INITIALLY. I think we have the chance to pull things together and finish strong! But if they don't pull together soon, like before Georgia (Heck maybe even Miss. State) this could be an ugly season.

I'm not sure. I guess I never really new the line anyway. In my opinion, I would definitely take the points. I also believe that UW is better than advertised. USC better not underestimate this team or UW will give them a scare. I think the fact of Matt Barkley and their safety being injured could possibly be favorable for UW as well. I'm still not sold on USC's defense just yet. I know that USC has more talent, but UW is getting ready for a Primetime game as well. The game could be close in the first half.

LSU was 1st game of season, based on UW asnd LSU last year.

and if LSU was playing UW now after UW played a similar caliber SEC team in the first game with the same score, with LSU playing a similar caliber team in game one with the same score-- LSU would be favored by much less than it was.

Guaranteed.

I love this. First the rant was all over USC because Barkley replaced Corp. Now that Corp may replace Barkley, we hear the same.

and both were due to injuries, not due to poor play.

Funny stuff.

It's really not that funny. At this point Barkley is a more proven player than Corp. Before the season started, no one knew what you had.

Yeah, USC did/does not know what it had/has in Corp. Wait til you see this guy. He is the most elusive and speediest QB since Rodney Peete or maybe even Vince Evans. Not as much velocity as barkley, but deadly accurate and makes great decisions.

........

In PRACTICE...

He may be a fine QB but seriously take off the blinders.. He IS NOT PROVEN at doing anything yet. FWIW I also dont think Barkley has proven all that much either.. Ohio State should have won that game and you only did because of the play of Joe McKnight not your QB. If I were USC right now I would be wondering just how good my offense really is since NAVY looked better against Ohio State's defense than my team did.

Because their strength of schedule is so much harder than LSU, and their Heisman qb already gets daily attention with his progress.

Chief. You might think you know what you have in Corp. The average non-USC fan doesn't. The fact that your starting QB (who just went into Columbus and beat a top 10 team) might not play against UW is material, and deserves a lower point spread. That's all.

Your logic is flawed.

#1, the line is set to get even money on each side...not to indicate comparitive strength of teams

#2, You are assuming that LSU would still be a 17.5 pt favorite if we played Washington this week.

#3, You want to give more credit to a line rather than pointing to the actual score of a played game.

FYI, I don't think USC is very strong this year.

The QB's are talented but lack experience. The O-line is very good, the RB's are very good, and very deep, and the WR's are good. We'll be good/very good offensively, but the real strength of the team is the defense.

And they'll just get better as the season goes on, IMHO.
