my buddy has such a fricked up scoring system i don't even know why i joined...we have 3 WRs, 3 RBs, 1 extra OP, 2 LBs, 2 DEs, a head coach, hell plus a lot more shite i don't even know it's too much
to put it in perspective, Troy Polomolu scored 67 points (in the 1st half)...jets Defense scored 140 points...punt returners & kick returners all get rewarded with massive bonuses...felix jones is scoring as many points as MJD...after week 1, i'm already through with fantasy and i'm pissed

I think it's kinda interesting.
I like that he came up with creative ways to score so that people have to do research to yield the best team versus just relying on some cookie cutter cheat sheet the morning of the draft.
How much did his team score this week compared to the average?
remember it wasn't that long ago that FFB was conducted with telephone, mail, and a newspaper. Because of the difficulty with figuring all that stuff out manually, line-ups were simple. Now that the internet has taken care of most of the operational hick-ups, the game will evolve into a far more complicated incarnation. PPR, IDP is far more common than it was just 5-6 years ago. 10-12-16-20 man leagues are also now commonplace.
Just because you don't want to put in the time, doesn't mean that his settings are retarded.
My league(6 years) went to PPR this year, we had a guy draft Turner/Jacobs/L.Johnson. Are we retarded because he couldn't let go of the past?

Yes, but the amounts given for some of those categories are just plain stupid.

Those were the good old days. I remember my first FF team with Sterling Sharp and Brett Farve as a tandem. We didn't even score yardage. Only TDs, FGs, INTs, FMBLs, and safeties were worth points. Most of the time we had to look in the next morning's paper to find out all the stats.

It's the amount of points given for each category that's retarded

We've been playing PPR in our league since 2000. Also, this is the first year that we have individual defensive players. I actually didn't think I'd like it at first, but now I find it to make the league better and more challenging.

and you know more about football/def schemes versus offensive styles (west coast), you actually know the players and can bring their name up in a conversation. Laurenitis is a stud in your league, while most FFB's would say "who"? But they all know who Lee "trash" Evans is.
You now are more of a fan of football because of this...right? Now how much do you really know about the head coaches? This guy might know more by year end than you.

what do i get a fricking cookie b/c i know the 2nd string linebacker for all 32 NFL teams? i don't want to know nor do i care to know the players....when i play fantasy football, i want to be entertained...it's entertaining to follow players and watch games hoping your player does something to beat someone else
it's NOT fun spending hours developing a winning strategy so you can win 50 bucks...in the end, i don't think anyone really gives a frick who wins fantasy football...it's just something that's fun if done right IMO
