he is not a very good passer right now. Some of his throws are Marcus Randall-esque.

I said that last night, one of his passes reminded me of Marcus Randall.

I said same thing last night.

Call me crazy, but I wanted to see J Lee in for a drive just to see what he could do. I am just afraid that the way JJ plays, he is looking at an injury at some point...not if, but when. And any half-wit knows that Russell Sheperd isn't going to be the guy and Chris G is red-shirting.

At least he is completing his passes to OUR guys. I really want both JJ and JL to be successful, but we have not been shooting ourselves in the foot with turnovers and pick-6's so far. That is very much a positive.

Hey, we screamed for him last year so let's get behind him now that we "have" him.

How many pick sixes has he thrown?

Me too, kinda. JJ's passing limits what we can do offensively. But his running does open up some things as well. Conversely, we could probably do more things through the air with JLee, but we couldn't run the option with him.

Pick Sixes are now the measuring stick for how good a qb is? If he doesn't throw them then he is a good qb?

Haven't you been around long enough to know the most popular guy in Louisiana is whomever is the backup QB at LSU?

What I meant is it could be worse and he's not losing games. It is better than throwing it to the wrong team, no?

Who's not behind him?

So that is the standard now for LSU quarterbacks? Just be better than Jarett Lee was in '08? Call me crazy, but I think we can do better than that.

Agreed and this is why we need to use them both. Or...use WildTiger more than twice per game. I am sure that RS can run the package better than what McClester does at Ole Miss.

RAIN will do that sometimes! Looked to me like the ball was slipping out of his hand, last nite, on those bad passes???

Eh, he's much better than Randall. I think he can make all the throws and he seems pretty poised. If he had some protection, I think he'd do much better. I don't think we will lose any games because of quarterback play, and that's a big step forward. I'm much more concerned with the play of the two lines. Our OL is shite, and it was shite last year. That more than anything else ought to concern everyone. Shitty line play is a recipe for getting blown out by a good team.

Pick 6's are game changers and momentum changers. We heaved one right off the bat against UGAly last year and that changed the complexion of that entire game, IMO. They were huge in other games as well.

Even if an INT doesn't head back for a TD, it puts your defense in a bad spot in terms of field position most of the time. If we can keep INT's to a minimum, I really think 2009 can be a much brighter year, especially down the stretch.
