something different, wanted to share:
INGREDIENTS
2 24 oz Cans Black-eyed peas drained and rinsed
2 14 oz Cans Artichoke Hearts drained and chopped
2 medium to small Onions finely chopped
4 tablespoon Parmesan grated
1 cup Mayonnaise
1 cup Sour cream
2 package Buttermilk Ranch Dressing Mix
2 cup Mozzarella grated and divided
4-5TB butter (depends on how much you like butter)
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat oven to 350. sautee the onions in the butter, then mix all EXCEPT 1 cup mazzarella, pour into 9x13 baking dish bake for 20 min, then top with remaining mozzarella, put back in the oven and bake until heated through and bubbly...roughly 10min. Serve with crackers or scoop style corn chips.
it goes well with wheat thins, but is easier scooped with fritos.
(For a smaller group, this recipe can be halved and put into a 9 inch pie plate for baking.)

I'd rather have Hoppin' John with ham hocks...but hey, that's me.
