How would lsu have defended clemsons final drive in the closing minute of the game? It was a fun game to watch- tech looked good and clemson really rallied in second half. The last drive got me thinking about how lsu would have defended...

I don't think you can compare the two different D needs. A score by Washington at the end means nothing to LSU, but a score by Clemson at the end means a loss or O/T to GT.

I thought Clemson played the end wrong. They didn't need 30 yd passes, but they just needed to move the chain and kick a f/g. They had like a min and a TO...what was the rush?

I felt the same way? Just kinda shrugged it off, buy they definitely played it wrong. Clemson looked much improved second half

LSU would have blitzed every player on each play to make sure they were being aggressive.

Young, inexperienced qb play, IMO. He did the same thing at the end if the 1st half until he finally connected on one.

Yeah, that was certainly part of it. Their QB has less snaps under his belt than ours.

You have to give him and Clemson a lot of credit though. Coming back from 24-0 on the road to tie the game was a nice effort.

Yeah, hell of a comeback by the freshman QB, Kyle Parker. Not great overall stats for the game, but still, consider me impressed.

Clemson should have beaten GT like a drum

If the Roman Gladiators were running backs, Caeser the QB and their offensive line was comprised of tigers (real tigers), do y'all think we would stand a better chance at winning since our mascot is a tiger?

I love crazy hypotheticals!!!

Interesting that GT could run for over 300 yards, but not convert very well on third downs. They certainly gained a lot of yards for a team that only scored one TD on offense (i.e., besides that TD pass from the fake FG).

I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion, but maybe you know more bout the two teams than me.

In a game that swings like that one did, I'm not really sure what it says bout either team.

It's funny you should mention this because I actually saw this play out several years ago. The real Tigers ate the Tiger mascot and mauled the Gladiators. Caesar was replaced by Mark Antony after leaving the game with gash in his lower abdoman and a mild concusion. Antony and his teamates eventually won the game due to a meteor shower that destroyed the stadium and injured most of the LSU football players. After the game the LSU fans blamed the loss on Les Miles and a soft defense.
