That is one of the ONLY things I am confortable with. Except for the fact that he's gonna get killed in the SEC if he keeps trying to run over people

He looked very solid. I expect our offense to be one of the most dangerous in the conference.

As much as everyone is criticizing the defense I think our offense it capable of making up for it. I expect the defense to show major improvement ove the next several weeks. The problems with the defense are all fixable.

Yeah but that was what the offseason was for.

more, that was a very loud, hostile environment to contend with.

compared to last season: Much MORE.

I saw a young QB that lacked experience in tough road games struggle with some aspects.

I also saw a young QB not make bonehead mistakes that were so achingly common last year.

No picks. No fumbles. No bad snaps. The kid was under pressure most of the time when he dropped back to pass. He either threw the ball away, scrambled to buy time, or took a sack.

Notice what he didn't do.

He shows leadership, poise under pressure, and pretty good athletic ability. He's no Jamarcus Russel but he is worlds better than the QB product we put on the field through the first 10 games last year.

ETA: was I the only one shitting bricks when JL came in the game? How about his pass to Holiday?

All I can say is that I hope JJ has an injury free season and/or Sheppard develops into the player lots of folks think he is or can be.

Much more. Kid was very mature out there.....he does, however, need to protect himself better on runs.

If it doesn't look dramatically different this weekend, then you can freak out. There were waaaay too many factors at work on saturday night. have faith, i know it looked like last year, but have faith

They went up against an offense that had a new coaching staff. I would expect a defense going up against an unknown offense to struggle some.

As far as correcting mistakes this year compared to last year we have a completely new def. coaching staff.

I think that this guy just comes on here to flame. JJ looked his age. He can only get better. He makes enough plays to win and doesn't make the mistakes that lose games.

2 head shots are bonehead mistakes...as was the throw from the endzone that was an inch away from a pick-6.

if we have a QB that throws 3 TD's a game with no turnovers, it could be a very good year.
