1. Up by 28 points at half should Brees even play anymore?
methinks rest him then
2. Should they start with Bell and Hamilton and only insert Reggie if needed?
methinks that would be a good plan
3. I haven't watched the CBs close enough. Are they left and right like Gibbs or do they flip? Just wondering about the matchup with Johnson.
4. Who returns kickoffs? Punts?
Meachem and Harper? Ya think Roby might come back?
5. What single thing are you looking forward to seeing the most?
methinks HAVOC in a real game, forced turnovers that count
methinks rest him then

2. yes, let him rest his fingernail another week.
3. the saints pass rush will make our secondary look real good next week.
4. Meachem and Harper, maybe Moore as well.
5. Everything.

What do I want to see?
Our defense start off leading the league in forced turnovers.

Wow I just realized LSU started out against a 0-12 team, and Saints get an 0-16 team.
Not a bad way to start a season!

I'm looking forward to our defense actually trying to get the ball back.

biggest pointspread in the NFL Week 1, saints by 13
ATL 4 over Miami
PHI 1 over Carolina
DAL 5.5 over TB
New Orleans is listed as 13 1/2 point favorites for this NFL week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions. Detroit will have a tough time contended with a fired up New Orleans crowd and what is sure to be one of the league's top offenses in 2009. It will not surprise anyone if the Saints take control of this early and cruise to an easy victory, but will they cover the spread? Two touchdowns is not insurmountable for the Saints. If this game is anything like the last meeting, covering the spread will be a comfortable bet. Right now, oddsmakers have the over/under at 49 1/2 points with both sides paying evenly. Straight up, the Lions have very little chance which is why they're at +650 on the moneyline. The Saints pay next to nothing at -900 when bet straight up. The first half lines are basically a split between the game lines. Detroit is 7 point underdogs in the first half with a payout slightly better than the Saints. Over/under for the first 30 minutes is set at 25 points. These lines are subject change, but can be found at just about every online sportsbook. Bettors wanting action on this game will need to get their bets in before Sunday.
