A expect a drop-off/let-down from them. Whether they become bowl elligible is still up in the air.

i expect a dropoff b/c LSU was so physical we killed their morale. that's going to be the more common excuse

I see the opposite. I think they just get better.

I agree.

Washington was fired up. Anybody can put up a fight really if they want it enough.

I hope not. This would make us look real bad.

i'm not, but don't take last night as some great sign

we routinely do this and pump up teams we should have beaten by more

we have 2 excuses

1. the title of this thread (which doesn't make sense b/c we sucked last year. it was better last year)

2. "LSU was so physical we hurt UW and they didn't physically recover" (this is more from 2006)

I am not hoping for a drop-off, neither do I want one. It is VERY difficult to play with that much emotion every week. If they do, you have some VERY GOOD coaches.

ETA: Of course UW did not win on emotion alone. Execution is what made LSU look a little stunned/shocked/silly in the 1st half.

you are out of your mind if you believe that. That team will play well and will be fired up all year with those 2 coaches. You obviously don't know about their hatred for WSU and Oregon - let alone SC.

If you think that team and stadium will be MORE JACKED to play a game than they were last night, then we did not watch the same game.

0-12 years and new Coaches (with talent) against a ranked oponent in the 1st game tend to do that for you. They have been wanting LSU all summer. We have been wanting to climb the space needle.

So they only got jacked up on 3rd down? That game had dick to do with Washington being hyped up and everything to do with 3rd down and Chavis.

What do you mean? According to Coach Leslie they're going to the Rose Bowl this year....

What a crock!

I believe 8-5 with a win over oregon, ND or Cal. Those coaches know all of those teams extremely well. This is assuming Locker stays healthy

Third and chavis reaered it's ugly head for sure. It was NOT our only problem.

Their Defense was jacked. Locker AND Polk looked very good. Some of this is attributable to emotion, some to lack of preparation on our part.

I don't recall anyone saying it was a "great" anything, but it was a 1st game road win over a PAC 10 team.

Perhaps nothing to shout bout, but nothing to whine over either. imo
