Gives up big plays, regroups during stretches, big runs, and cant get off the field. WE NEED TO BLITZ MORE

What happened when we sent an all out blitz on the first drive?

Ummmmm....

We actually blitzed too much in the 1st half.

Then played the softest zone in the US of A in the 2nd.

Blitz does you know good when you don't disguise it. It also helps to fake the blitz some time just to keep the o thinking. We do neither.

you cant send everybody, zone blitz... be smart about it... really that was the perfect call for that blitz. You cant televise it.

God, I really do hate you.

What we need is:

Alem to stay on the bus, or contain, one of the two.

We need Kelvin Sheppard to be out of the game ASAP and play Ryan Baker.

Chad Jones either needs to play with some speed, or go to the bullpen.

Last and not least, Hawkins is an absolute liability against the run.

We blitzed alot last night, AND did have some success in dictating down and distance, then could not contain Locker......we keep him in the pocket or from hitting the edge, we win this game by 24.

washington was ready to play. Simple at that. THey are a good team. I know some of you don't want to believe that.

If they go 0-12 agian then i would be worried.

No they are not. They may not suck as bad as last year. They may have been pumped. They may have a 6 win season in the Pac 10.....but they are not a good team.

Their D is mediocre, their receivers are just OK, They have almost no talent on the corners (so we ran it up the gut with TH
) One decent QB and a quick RB is not that impressive. We should have rolled them about 42-10.

I love it, when the defense isn't as successful, the one thing everyone wants more of, is blitzing. If the rant was the DC, we'd blitz every down, and that would solve the problems. Why don't coaches just blitz more, its obviously the best strategy, the fans say it is anyway.

Most grew up playing Blitz and Madden cause their mommas wouldn't allow them to play foosball.

nobody saying bring the house, but you cant sit back and let Locker pick you apart. If the front 4 isnt applying pressure then send someone. Damn fools thinking blitz = safety, linebackers running at qb... Its more than that.

Even God knows you dont blitz all the time.

If some on this board could learn a few more football words aside from blitz. Would be a bit more enjoyable discussion.

Tackling technique.
Missed assignments
Containment
DL leverage in first half.

All of these not occuring had a hell of alot more to do with the third and long conversions.

if blitzing just a couple of guys is the answer, how come every DC doesn't do that? Do you know more about college football defense than most defensive coaches?
