Even though Try Losingham tried to rip the heart and soul out of our program, I think this fan base has a lot of pride.

Will we reach our record of 135 decibels like the ESPN night game against Nebraksa, doubtful.
But I think it will be the most rockin' 0-12 fan base you have ever seen.

Also, most Dawg fans have a great appreciation for the tradtion of college football (unlike our Fduck rivals in Eugene), so having LSU visit is something special, even in our down years.

Let's get it on!!!!

Go Dawgs!!!

I still can't believe you got your stadium louder than us when we played UF in 2007. I have had some loud experiences in TS, but that event actually made me stop yelling as my jaw dropped in awe of the moment.

I don't think Jake's "your" type. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

We get loud but you pissers bringing 12,000 fans doesn't help the situation. LSU rat-bastards! kidding. Good Luck.

Think it'll be tough for you guys to beat The Swamp.

Don't think the Gators have put up a goose egg n the win column recently. No way was I comparing what you will hear on Saturday to the Swamp.

But I will say, when we were winning (seems so long ago), you would be hard pressed to find a louder crowd.

Same goes for Qwest Field and the Kingdome in it's day.

Must be the damp air.

Not that you are wrong, but I find that hard to beleive when there are so many reports of Washington folks wondering what is going on and why are so many lsu fans around All of a sudden

FWIW They have the loudest recorded game in history.

I blame positioning of those mics relative to the student section personally.

The main reason we can get it loud is because the overhangs above our stands focus all the sound towards the field. That, combined with some metal bleachers, makes for some good noise. We're probably not any louder than you guys on a per fan basis, but our stadium helps us out a bit. That said, we hit that decibel measure when we had a very good team. 4 years of Ty have really sucked the life out of the fan base. Ty's leadership has led to some of the quietest husky stadium games I've ever seen. We will be fairly loud on saturday, but it definitely won't be our best effort.. I would expect it to not even come close to tiger stadium on saturdays. However, if we ever do get a decent team, we will definitely be back amongst the loudest stadiums in the nation (it'll help when we start having enough interest in the team again to not allow 15,000 oppossing fans buy up seats, heh).

The Nebraska game was in '92 I believe. a local tv station had a decibel measure of 133.8, while espn had a reading of 130.2.

"The loudest stadium sound ever recorded was actually 133.8 dbs in Husky Stadium at the University of Washington. It was Sept 19, 1992 vs. Nebraska. It is not the reported "official" record, because ESPN recorded a sound of 130.2, and that is the official recording. However, a local suburban broadcast which documented the husky team that year recorded the 133.8 dbs. Although we can't be certain how accurate that recording is, it deserves a mentioning as the unofficial record."

Regardless of what the actual reading is, it was definitely one of the loudest games ever. That said, the game was a very long time ago and we aren't close to that level right now.

Edit: found that quotation online as it gives a little more info

That's a good stat to have. Especially against a fan base that takes slot of pride in being loud. We may not be the loudest ever, but we stay loud for sixty minutes. That's what make tiger stadium so scary for opponents.

That's the one problem I have with our fan base right now. We get pretty loud on defensive 3rd downs and goal line stands, but in the normal run of play things are actually pretty quiet. we dont' really have the sustained sound that it sounds like you guys have. We were much better at keeping it loud back when we were good, but right now it seems like the fans only feel like cheering on crucial plays, which gets pretty frustrating for us die-hards..
