Congrats to LSU

1. All the LSU fans were great, though not as crazy as advertised. A lot of them looked shell shocked deep into the 4th qtr.

2. We have had a lot of good teams (Sooners, Ohio St and USC)visit Husky stadium recently, but I think LSU had the most team speed.

3. Patrick Peterson is a stud. He should get the game ball. He made at least 5 big plays which included the TD saving tackle, great coverage on the deep route in the endzone and the one on one tackle of Locker to prevent a 1st down.

4. Jake Locker has really developed into a well rounded QB.

5. Atmoshpere was pretty good considering school has not started, 0-12 last year and a lot of the fan base still feel alienated by Try Losingham.

6. Sark has things going in the right direction. 50+ recruits at the game.

I am now a big Tiger fan the rest of the season. We are hoping LSU lives up to their ranking and what we really saw was an improved pack of Dawgs
Don't think the Gators have put up a goose egg n the win column recently. No way was I comparing what you will hear on Saturday to the Swamp.

But I will say, when we were winning (seems so long ago), you would be hard pressed to find a louder crowd.

Same goes for Qwest Field and the Kingdome in it's day.

Must be the damp air.
Cute.

I don't think Jake's "your" type. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Harry is not even in purple and gold. Pretty weak.

How loud will Husky stadium get?

Even though Try Losingham tried to rip the heart and soul out of our program, I think this fan base has a lot of pride.

Will we reach our record of 135 decibels like the ESPN night game against Nebraksa, doubtful.
But I think it will be the most rockin' 0-12 fan base you have ever seen.

Also, most Dawg fans have a great appreciation for the tradtion of college football (unlike our Fduck rivals in Eugene), so having LSU visit is something special, even in our down years.

Let's get it on!!!!

Go Dawgs!!!
Will there be Jack Links jerkey involved? :doublebird:
Where to start with this one.

1. Did you exceed your word limit which required an edit?

2. Nice stereotype with the Prius comment. Actually I will be driving my Dodge truck back to God's country on the Olympic Peninsula.

3. Win, Lose or Draw, this Dawg fan will be in his seat to the end.

4. Speaking of stereotypes, you and your cousin did pay for the king size room upgrade, right??

God that guy still pisses me off.
Hmmmm, road block???????

Hey, 0-12 team needs every advantage it can get.

Perfect Seattle Weather

Looks like it will be rainy and mid 50's for kickoff. Maybe the wind will kick up off Lake Washington to make for a perfect NW night.

Combine that with the late start, ESPN night game, and a new coaching era, strange things can happen.

Hey, with the major gap in talent, we need every break we can get.

Try Losingham wouldn't recruit players taller than him.

Our secondary could be in for a long night if Jefferson gets lots of time to throw.

Hopefully Holt can come up with some creative blitz schemes from our LB's.
As for the poster who said 99% of people in Seattle do not care about football, they obviously have never attended a game at Qwest Field or Husky Stadium.

Qwest is considered the loudest stadiums in the NFL, and we always lead the league in false starts by opposing offenses.

As for Husky stadium, I believe it is still holds one of the loudest db ratings ever when it reached 130.8 vs. Nebraska in the 1992 ESPN night game.

I know LSU fans are passionate, but the sound does not carry from the opposing fans seat locations. What is unique about Husky stadium is nearly 90% of the seating capacity is located between the endzones, filled with Dawgfans.

It won't be as intimidating as a lot of the SEC stadiums, but to say it won't be very loud is a huge mistake.
These ticket sale numbers are horrible, but you can expect Husky stadium to be rockin' come September 5th. The fan base still has a hangover from 4 years of Try Losingham. Many longtime season ticket holders finally sent a message by not renewing when Try was retained for a 4th year.
When watching LSU from a distance I always come away feeling they have dominating lines on both sides of the ball, lots of team speed and they are always able to run the football.

What are going to be the team's strengths this year?

My two major concerns:

1. Stopping the run

2. UW's O-line vs. the Tiger front 7.

Anybody else jacked up about football?

That was one of the most disappointing losses in Husky history. We were coming off finishing #7 in the country the previous year, and started 2-0 including a win over #8 Michigan the week before.

Keep in mind most of that team went on the next year to finish 11-1 (#2), and a lot of people say they should have been national champs instead of BYwho.

So that was a huge upset by the Tigers. Just goes to show anything can happen.
