When Josh Downs reported to camp, it was reported he was held out of practice due to high blood pressure.

I have not heard anything about him since then. Did they get his blood pressure under control? I hope so because I have a feeling he will be one of my favorite players down the road.

I think he's been OK, and was never actually held out due to blood pressure since practice started.

Either way, no doubt that he is a stud.

He's been at practice:

quote:

“I’m really impressed with freshman Josh Downs,” Alexander said. “He can help us up front, be that swing guy on tackle.”

LSU coach Les Miles has singled out Downs several times when talking about the defensive line.

“Josh Downs from Bastrop just has such a high motor,” Miles said. “He works so hard.”

it was reported that he had higher than normal Blood Pressure prior to getting started in 2-a-days. But once he settled down from the excitement he was fine, just a over the top kid, thats very happy to be at LSU. His work ethic maybe be taken as over exuberant. But I think he's just going all out, weather its the wrong technique or not. Technique can be corrected, hustle is another matter.

I heard he hurt his ankle. I don't think it that bad though...we need him come game time! From what I hear he is making a real impact already

Josh, pure and simple is a football player. It will be hard to keep him off the field. He was the best defensive lineman in the All American game. He just never stops.

He must be ok because all the talk I have heard is that he will be backup on the D-line which means he will be getting playing time. Pretty hard to be impressive if you aren't able to practice 100%.

A lot of people say that 6'0 to 6'1 is undersized for a DT. I think its the perfect size and our best d linemen ever have been this size.

Booger and Putt were approximately 6' in every direction (spherical, I believe the shape is described). If we had more effective DTs than those two, I'd like to know who they are. Maybe Henry Thomas?
