Oxford is too quaint for hotels, the locals would use the swimming pool for a bathtub.

The last two times I went, we stayed at the Water Valley Inn in Water Valley. It's about a 15 min ride from Oxford. It's pretty much a shithole, but it's real cheap. I actually booked this place 5 days before the game in 2005.

Oh and Redneck, not all the bars are 21 at all. And some that are, like Funky's, Parish's etc are VERY easy to get in to. The Levee, The Lyric, the center Library, etc are all 18+.

Oxford is a badass city and the people who say it's not either haven't been here or didn't know what the hell to do when they were here. Great music scene, great bar scene (just starts and ends earlier), and super attractive girls. This is all coming from an LSU fan and 18 year Baton Rouge resident.

I went to the Ole Miss game in 07 and had a great time at the bars and thought the campus was really nice. Nothing bad to say about it at all, going again this year

Hampton Inn Batesville...

I don't know if this place has availability, but everytime I go home from college I see this place on top of the hill. It's kind of off by itself, but still very close to Oxford (5 miles north on Hwy 6). I also checked out the rates and very affordable considering.

Just don't take the Oxford room lol
