Just my opinion but I think Hartline is ranked too high.

Jordan was sacked nine times.

i'd rather a QB take a sack than throw a ball into triple coverage.

looks to be a weak Qb year for the SEC.

Believe me, jefferson had it drilled in his head by the coaches to take a sack if he had to but not throw it up for grabs. I'm sure he also had a first row seat to what happened to Lee when he did that. THat accounts for lots of sacks in limited playing time. He should be more comfortable this year but I would still rather see him tuck and run or take a sack than throw it up.

After a season of watching int's returned for touchdowns he may have been more inclined to take the sack then risk the consequences of a hurried throw.

I think shows outside of the top 2, there are serious question at QB in the SEC.

If Casey "Water Pistol" Dick, the worst QB in the history of the game, can throw for a couple hundred shy of 3,000 yards in the Petrino offense with
-An offensive line that was learning 30 pass protections, opposed to the 4 used by Nutt.
-Limited time learning the Petrino playbook.
&
-A WR corp that was comprised of Freshman and True Freshman.......
Then I have a hunch that Mallett, who has the strongest arm in college, a year and a half running the Bobby Petrino offense against the first team defense, an All-American TE, and a WR corp that is experienced, will throw for more yards than anyone in the SEC.
In the previous two scrimmages (Yes, I know it's a scrimmage) he has thrown for almost 800 yards. He will not do that against SEC defenses but it shows you what Petrino has in mind.

I heard he can throw a football 115 MPH. He'll throw for at least 6000 yards and 60 TDs.

The first thing I thought of when I saw Ryan Mallet at 6th was Arkansas fans throwing their arms in the air in disgust. They still think Petrino and Mallett are going to save the day and refuse to acknoledge the mistake of running off Houston Nutt who now has Ole Miss in the top 10. How many good coaches have ya'll ran off now Arkie? Holtz, Sutton, Richardson, Nutt? Am I missing one?

Houston Nutt had an 8 win season and a win in the Cotton Bowl.
That's about on par with his 10 previous years of ho-hum, mediocre football. He also was handed the keys to a team loaded with talent, to include Snead, whom never would have chosen Old Piss had he known Nutt would be the coach.
Additionally Old Piss is in the Top 10 due to Seniors, that Nutt had nothing to do with, Snead whom Nutt had nothing to do with, and a schedule written in crayon.
Nutt did the same thing with Danny Ford's Jr's and Sr's then proceeded to finish under .500 over the next 8 years.
Petrino on the other hand was given NOTHING. You think Nutt would have won 5 games last year? Get real. Nutt left the cupboard so bare not even roaches or mice could find something worth hanging around for.
But on to Mallett.....Want to wager that he does or doesn't lead the SEC in passing?
