I was thinking 10-6.
What is your thinking behind them winning at Philly? I had that as a loss.
If they somehow win that one, then I think they get to 3-0 after beating Buffalo the following week.
At that point, their confidence could be off the charts high and anything would be possible.

If they pull out both road games in week 2 and 3, that would be huge, but I don't expect that to happen. Splitting those would be good.

I just think the saints can take the eagles. It will be the first road game, hopefully everyone will be fired up. It's one of those games to me where it may be a hard battle, but i have faith in Brees and our receivers, (plus special teams in this game..have a feeling kick off returns could play a factor) plus our D should still be healthy and fresh enough to hold their points low.

okay, I'll play

Lions 35-0 1-0, complete domination, even Saints fans are amazed by the D which controls tempo and scores twice

@Philly 15-14 2-0, Offense sputters with 4 turnovers, and D holds it together, Carney 5 fgs

@Buffalo 28-16 3-0, solid road win

Jets 28-3 4-0, GW proves to be the master over rookie QBs with 3 ints & one fumble caused

Giants 24-21 5-0, 4-0 Carney punches 37yder with :04 left, G men big headed after defeating TB-KC-OAK 81-9, Saints move into national spotlight and upper power rankings

@Miami 44-17 6-0, Payton replays previous score over his mentor Parcells pulling out the wildcat, a triple reverse, and a Herb Donaldson td pass

Falcons 23-27 6-1, Dirty Birds pull win out with several controversial plays and questionable officiating calls, several players receive hefty fines for scuffles

Panthers 6-35 6-2, Cats run and pass at will, fans call NO defense too chance taking aggressive

@St. Louis 42-7 7-2, Saints shutdown Steven Jackson to 29yds as Rams are down to Brock Berlin at QB, special teams and D both score tds

@Tampa Bay 31-9 8-2, Now 2-8, Raheem Morris is officially on the hot seat, Bucs look chaotic

Pats 35-28 9-2, Meachem officially sheds bust talk with his 7th td, a 77yd bomb to win the game on the third play in overtime.

@Washington 7-17 9-3, Sleet and rain make for a trudgefest, Brees worst game in 4 years, only score is a Bush punt return

@Atlanta 28-35 9-4, Birds win with 2 special team scores in final two minutes, pull to 8-5 with 2 wins over division leader

Cowboys 45-3 10-4, interim Cowboys coach Jason Garret loses first game on national television. Saints play almost perfect game for a Saturday night party.

Bucs 28-27 11-4, Saints pull out sloppy win over lowly TB by Bryants 3rd missed XP of the season.

@Carolina 24-17 12-4, Saints one game up on Panthers still must win being 2-3 in division. Hard fought game with difference being a Jenkins pick 6 with 1:44 left. Ellis hits Jake for Vilma fumble recovery in final series.

every season has it's surprises, I'll take those 2 L's at 12-4 with a NFC South crown and bye. One was a nasty game with bad calls, the other by freak TD kickoff return and fake punt TD

With all due respect to Blues, I don't see the Falcons pulling the sweep.
I don't see the Saints losing to the Redskins.
I don't see us beating the Patriots.

If all the breaks go our way: 11-5
If the breaks go 50/50: 8-8
If injuries bite us again: 6-10

Disclaimer: The above captioned numbers will be adversely affected should Brees miss any playing time.

Detroit- W
@Philly- L
@Buffalo- W
Jets-W
Bye
Giants-L
@Miami-L (upset)
Atlanta-W
Carolina-W
@St Louis- W
@Tampa-W
Patriots- L
@Washingt-W
@Atlanta-L
Dallas-W

@Carolina- L (unless its do or die)

I say we sweep tampa since they are terrible, split with carolina and atlanta, i even gave us a loss to miami to give us 6 losses. not sure how we can fall much more than that

I don't see it either. With a pretty fair history, I say a key to prognostication is predicting what you don't see. Every season has surprises. Usually a win and loss or two that you "shouldn't" have had. Last year was a little more on the bad bounce side IMO. I think the stars will align more favorably in '09. That was more just a fun write up. I'll do actual real predicting before the opener. The Jammal Brown question and how they deal with it is a major issue as to how the prospects shake out to me.

I don't see us losing at home to Carolina then beating them on the road.

I don't see it either. I didn't see a Carolina sweep or a third straight year losing in Chicago in '08 either. If you pick every game by the August book you'll be disappointed.
