Matt Flynn-He Could Start For A Handful Of NFL Teams

Dude keeps getting better and better.
The only thing that hurts him is that he backs up a really good, young QB in Aaron Rogers.
If Flynn were in, say, Carolina, for example, he'd definitely be pushing Delhomme for his starting spot because I think that Jake is on the decline.
I think he'd also give Leftwich a run for the starting role in TB as well.
Denver, Tennessee, Cleveland, Miami, Washington, and Buffalo are some other teams that come to mind that Flynn could possibly start for.
Matty boy is representing the Tigers well!!!

I totally agree. He's a gamer, has great pocket presence, and has really worked on his arm this offseason and it's showing.
Just like Matt Schaub, Jake Delhomme, Kurt Warner, and many others did, he will have to sit for now but will get his chance somewhere.

I'm a big Redskins fan... I'd love to see Flynn play for one of favorite teams (but now is not that time).
For some reason I could DEFINITELY see him with the Broncos and have thought so for a while.

I know he's an LSU guy but people need to calm down, Flynn has 5 passes in his career he's not close to giving Chad Pennington, Jake Delhomme, or Kerry Collins a run for their money yet.

FWIW - Flynn is having a better pre-season than these guys so far.

Pennington--notoriously weak arm and is on the down side of his career.
Delhomme--definitely on the down side of his career--but having Steve Smith and an awesome running game keeps him safe most seasons.
Collins--a glorified backup QB--simply a journeyman that fills in when called upon.
I just personally think Flynn has a better upside than all of these guys, especially when you factor in their ages.

Try using the dictionary.
That's what they're teaching the special ed kids to do.
Maybe it'll work for you too.

If you honestly believe the shite you are typing, you are either the biggest homer in the world or you are fricking retarded.

Ahhh--so they've got you guys using Webster's edition.
Keep up the good work.
We're all pulling for you.

As much as I would enjoy provoking your anonymous vehemence... I don't feel like degenerating this thread further by trading insults.
I know that I'm a fan and not an analyst, so I doubt anything I have to say about Flynn would penetrate your thick skull.
Maybe an unbiased, professional opinion will shut you up...

20. Matt Flynn, Green Bay -- Flynn, a seventh-round pick in 2008, seized the Packers backup job in the preseason and never let go, beating out the much more highly regarded Brian Brohm, a second-round selection last season. Green Bay is pretty high on Flynn, and the former LSU star knows what it's like to sit and wait your turn. He backed up NFL draft picks Matt Mauck and JaMarcus Russell in college, but won a national championship as a senior starter.
You're probably thinking "Flynn is #20... That's only proving my point even more..." (I left out the smattering of expletives you would have used

Just for fun - let's see who was ranked worse than Flynn...

21. Vince Young, Tennessee
22. Matt Leinart, Arizona
23. Alex Smith, San Francisco
26. Josh McCown, Carolina
27. David Carr, New York Giants
Weren't a few of these guys NFL starting QBs as recently as last year?

I'm not going to argue my status as a tremendous homer. There's always a chance Flynn may bomb the rest of the pre-season or choke mightily when called upon should Rodgers go down. Hey -There's also a chance you aren't an insignificant blowhard in the real world.
I'm going to revisit this list the first week of the regular season to see if it gets updated. Flynn's position will surely rise...until he is no longer on it.

i agree. Flynn is lucky to be recieving an NFL paycheck right now. I'm happy for what he did for the Tigers, but c'mon people.

I totally agree with you. Sooner rather than later Flynn will be a NFL starter. I think alot of can't get the picture of him standing next to russell and think of him as a small QB with a weak arm. This couldn't be further from the truth. The guy is 6'2" - 6'3" 225lbs with a above average arm, and is is a damn good athlete. If he gets a fair shot he will be successful.

I could start for a handful of NFL teams, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.
How 'bout we let Flynn throw more than 5 passes before we anoint him a starter in the NFL.
