Why, in your opinion, is this season so special?

I've been reading a lot of articles lately about this upcoming season being "special". To me, its because of being under the radar, and everyone thinking our magic has run out. It seems that this team has a lot to prove. Every player has made a comment about "keeping focus", and wanting to prove that last season was not LSU football. It seems a lot of fans are ready to put Les Miles on the chopping block......again, not exactly sure why though.
Those are just a couple of my reasons. Just a little football talk before the season starts.

This is false. What you do makes up who you are. So, last season did happen, it was and is a part of LSU football, end of story.

Its not, its just the beginning of another football season. You can make it seem like every season is special if you want to. The media does it every year.

I think it has to do with gaining back our swagger. The media is presuming that Ole Miss and Alabama has passed us up and Florida is the greatest thing ever, so this season is our chance to shut that talk up.
I think those teams are certainly good teams but we have superior depth to Ole Miss and 'Bama. Florida is separated by having an All American at QB but when he leaves I think we are right back level with them, and not far below right now.
It will be interesting to see how quickly the defense meshes with Chavis' scheme. It took 2-3 games with Pelini.

It's special because I love a good comeback story. Last year was a good wakeup call to the Tiger Nation...time to show what they're made of.

I dont know if it's "special" or not, but I know that for the first time in a while we as tiger fans have had a bad taste in our mouth all summer. People have suggested that Death Valley has not been as loud in the last few years because we have become spoiled with winning. This year, if we do turn it around, tiger fans should be as pumped as ever. When we start kicking arse again, I will be screaming not only out of approval but also because we will be proving the doubters wrong. After last year, I get the feeling that there will be more electricity in the stadium this year for every game.

Because my girlfriend (who is a diehard UF fan) and I have a bet on the game. The loser has to paint shutters the opposing teams colors. Yes I was drunk when I made bet but can't get out now

Why is this season special?
Because it is football, every year you have possibility of seeing a young man do something special. From Hester gaining first down after first down, to Rohan to Reed making that a special day, to the bluegrass miracle.
Each new season offers something new and that is why each college football season is special.

Because we were an awful 3-5 last season in the SEC. We've never had a season worse than 5-3 since DiNardo left. 3-5 is absolutely terrible. We need to redeem ourselves.
