His recruitment is starting to open up, I've spoken to a few coaches from the area and they think he is starting to see that there is more out there.

Let me remind you the kid is from Bessemer not much out there and most of what is out there relates to Auburn or Alabama. I think the Auburn shine is fading.

Auburn has the advantage that his uncle (one of the first black players at Auburn) lives close to campus and they have a good relationship. If he doesnt make a commitment before the season starts we have a legit shot.

completely agree. Let's not forget he had planned a commitment to Auburn just about a month or so back and then decided to wait.

From what I've heard he wants out of his uncle's shadow and wants to do his own thing.

He goes to Bessemer Academy right?? Think they have sent a few guys to La Tech and Vandy over the past few years.

Its program is on par with MPSA Schools like Trinity where Stevan Ridley played

Would like to see him in P&G as well. I think he has the size right now to play from day one.

You get this kid in for an official visit and show him that not only Auburn but LSU has a family atmosphere and it will be wide open for his signature. This guy loves winning and I don't think Auburn has that going for them for the next few years maybe even longer.

Not as much. Sam always liked us and we were said to be leading at one point before Earl left the staff.

we always had a shot but it seemed to be diminishing more and more as time went by. by the end of the recruiting season, it was a pretty big surprise that he chose us.

however, owens would be almost completely out of left field.
