PS3 RROD?

Playing a game of NCAA online last night and it freezes up. Can't do anything. So I had to manually turn off system. Now it will not read any discs. No games, dvds or blu rays. I've had it for 2 yrs so i'm sure my warranty is long gone. Going to have to spend $150 for Sony to fix or replace it with a refurb. This happen to any of you all?
If so, how long did it take to get back. Should I just go trade it in at Gamestop on a refurb? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

From the time you order the coffin, you should be back to playing with the refurbed ps3 in two weeks.

Actually Gamestop does take systems that do not work as long as they are not damaged physically. They just send them to be repaired and sell them as refurbs.

Got mine back in a week but that one was broke too. Sent it off and got one that works 2 weeks later.

This happened to me. Mine was still under warranty. The blu-ray drive went out. Like the other posters said, about 2 weeks.

Well I'm out of warranty. Looks like $150 for me to get it either fixed or a refurb. AWESOME. I got RROD for the 2nd time on 360 a month ago...now this.

I just got off the phone with sony about the problems with my 2 broken ps3's 40 and 60 gig both out of warrenty and they will fix one for free so im going to get both fixed for 150. Better than dropping 300 to fix two.
The girl one the phone was nice and sounded kinda hot, better than that bitch I had to talk to when my 60 gig broke
