re: At what point is it unacceptable not to win the West?
Posted by SouthPassTiger on 12/4/10 at 1:59 pm to Fat Bastard
How hard is it to f'n comprehend for you Rantards? We haven't been to the title game because the national title contender/winner has gone the last two years.
Your complaint boils down to "We didn't contend for the national title."
Deal with it crybabies. Ask our contemporaries and recent powerhouses UF, USC, UT, etc. if they'd switch places with LSU this year.

And I don't consider Auburn to be "elite" in the longterm, I just they have the good fortune of having landed a really special player in Cam Newton that can single-handedly will his team to a title (ala VY 2005).

who suggested we're not trying? everyone is. not going undefeated is a fact of life when the top five teams in your division are 41-1 against all other competition. LSU was in the thick of it with the probable national champ and had our chances but couldn't pull it out. As a fan, I'm satisfied with good competition at the highest level. Can't win em' all.

Unfortunately the standard to play in it the last two years has been 8-0 perfection. One of the consequences of playing in the best division in the country.

Quite an ordeal, but the parents are great people who have shown a lot of courage. Consider a donation through the Trot for Tripp if you're inclined.

Houston, out of luck on that front I think. Won't be near a computer that is why I was asking. Wading through the game thread is a pain in the arse.
Game Audio
Posted by SouthPassTiger on 6/5/10 at 4:23 pm
What are the options to get live audio of the game for those out of state? I know lsusports.net will be streaming it, but are there any options outside of being at the computer? iphones, etc?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

re: Stella Sola in Houston....anyone tried this?

excellent spot. comparable price point to his seafood place (reef), but meat-centric in comparison. lots of stuff made in house, suckling pig and short rib are both top notch.

Love Dickie's my favorite steakhouse in the city. Has the Louisiana character that Ruth's has abandoned in its corporate-hungry expansion. Have fun in Orlando Mortons/Smith &Wollenskys/insert generic steakhouse chain here.

Herbsaint is only 3 blocks away and a dynamite spot. Try the frog legs and housemade spaghetti small plate.

He put "chicks" as one of the factors he was looking for. While anybody will admit that Walk On's is the poor man's Chili's......it is one of the best game weekend spots in town in that regard. So it is not out of place at all.

Piero has some of the best homemade pasta in the city. Northern Italian. Not cheap but a great meal.
