ESPN
New article says Louisiana Talent Leaving the State and also says
I still think we sign Reed or Wright. I don't think we even offered Legaux.
ETA: ESPN Hates LSU.

I'm pretty sure we didn't offer Munchie. Reed will be coming to LSU. And even though we offered Wright, I thought that he was pretty much Texas Tech bound from day one, but I may be wrong on that.

Man, did you ever put a negative spin on that blurb from a very short column. My paraphrase is that Louisiana is really deep this year, LSU is getting who they want, some are having to leave.

No kidding. The authur is saying LSU already has 21 and is running out of room.

What he fails to mention is the SEC now has the strongest group of head coaches of any league in the Country. Every State is now open game, just look at what is happening to Florida and Georgia.
It seems most of the guys we lose have problems qualifying or go to a high profile program they can start as a freshmen.

Foolish article, noone can get all of the good players in their state. First of all we have great QBs for several years, we have great receivers for several years, and who say's Reed is going to Auburn.

No doubt. Just look at Oklahoma. Even Texas is stealing some of the Texas players from them

I didn't put the spin on it. That's the title of the article. I actually thought it was funny that on ESPNU's front page they have LSU rated as the top class and right next to it they have a link that says, "Louisiana talent leaving the state".

Reed has said on MANY occasions he wants to stay in state so his family can see him play. He brought ten people with him to the Auburn camp for fun, he is most probably already an LSU silent commit so we can get Wright as well IMO.
I think we close out with:
LS
TR
JW
one more LB/DL

The title is misleading and meant to get the article attention. It worked, I sure read it.

Lol, your spin on the article is worse that the article itself. You found a wisp of smoke and screamed FIRE.

Lot's of in-state talent every year. LSU can't sign em all. Should make La Tech better since Jewlane and ULaLa can't recruit. Oh yea Texas A&M too

Unfortunately we can't sign everybody. We've done a good job of keeping most of the ones that we wanted.

While the title may be a little misleading, as noted above, it's just grabbing everyone's attention. LSU's continued dominance with in state talent is made clear in the opening lines of the article:
quote:
It's no secret that LSU has dominated in-state recruiting this decade. Apart from the occasional player like Joe McKnight, who left for USC, the Tigers tend to get who they want out of the Pelican State. This year is a good year in Louisiana and many of the top prospects have already committed to the Tigers, who have 21 commits and are filling up fast. That means there will be some good players that leave the state.

Funny how Joe Mcknight gets mentioned as the guy we lost, but Mauti will probably be the bigger loss. In terms of excellence in college, and positional need for LSU. G

This has been going on for years.
Texas, Fla., Ms, etc. talent are leaving their states, LSU has been getting them for years.

I took some talent from the state one time. Boy, was that fun trip. We cruised around being up to no good. Our sights were set on a secret concert that not very many people knew about so I was told. The chemicals made us to do it. There was some serious talent there to...if my memory serves me right.
