Baseball: Runs v. Points

I got slammed on my facebook last night for saying something like, "Hey Red Sox, in order to win a game, you have to actually score some points! 24 straight innings without scoring a single point!"
I got slammed for saying "points" instead of "runs." Does it really matter THAT much. I was slammed by Red Sox and Cubs fans FWIW.

Just like you refer to the scoring in soccer and hockey as goals, you refer to it as runs in baseball. At the end of the day they are all the same thing, but in order not to sound like a moron, just use the correct term for the respective sport.

Yes it does. I would pretty much stop listening to anything you had to say on the topic of baseball after i heard that.
